I retired at 55....had enough of back pain and ahole stoopidvisors. Thing is, I was a yard mowing fool at 12 and that was going on not just in the summer time but also in the fall and early spring. You live pretty much in the same weather type area as I do so you know the grass does still grow some in the winter especially if the winter is mild? The mowing season slows down some though. Went to work with my dad at 14 building houses. Anyways, my back felt lots better after retiring but once I hit 70, I started slowing down against my wishes lol. Maybe I should stop drinking.....or maybe not! I'm still active pretty much all day but nowadays my knees let me know when I've had enough.....
Also retired at 55. Supervisors were not the problem.
Micro-management and getting into my personal well being space of mandatory reporting of traveling on my time from one location of work to the next connecting shift was the start of really crossing the line.
Example of that is working midnights in one location and having to call them to let them now I’m traveling to the next location.
After 30+ at the job, the balance of quality of my life and brain was tipping in the wrong direction. Since I met the age minimum and there was no good reason to stay on board, I threw in the towel. I took the pension and left the Big Apple Empire State for more suitable weather. Happily, I traded the 3-4 months of bone hurting weather where I can’t work on a car for the stupid hot 3-4 months of hot weather where I can work on a car to about mid day and then retreat to the pool or A/C.
I like mid day lunch’s and a nap nower days. During winters here, I can wrench in the mid 40’s and be OK, slightly cranky. During the summer, 4-5 hours in the morning till noon. Once electricity, water and the loft gets in the new garage, no one may ever see me again.
But like I said above, ether do, or, do not. If f your not sure, say so and I can wait, but, may do without if your on the fence. It’s all good! Just no time for non sense and wish washy people. I’m m more of a “Lets getter Done.” guy. He like to be positive and have positive motions.
I feel ya on the back issues. 1 partial slip disc, 1, with mild compression, ligaments damaged and not getting better, arthritis in the joints, etc… like many here at the age where these annoying things crop up and creep in.
I’m not bitchen, just saying how it is and it is what it is.
Some days it’s a challenge to do things and others it’s like I’m young. And sometimes regret it in the evening. LMAO!
UGH!
I’m not a salty hard nosed ***. Just tired of dumb ****.
I’m easy going, would rather make jokes or learn something.
A basic IDGAF attitude, let enjoy the day, laugh, go racing, hang out and BS, drink beer, eat well, etc…
And yea! Grass down here grows like a Mutha-******! Dang!
Sometimes twice a month is t enough. It’s a little ridiculous compared to where I grew up and lived for the first 55. Yikes!
