I've used screws many times when in a pinch and sometimes they were forgot about for over more than a couple of years!

I like the coated screws. They look like the fastest and easiest and cleanest method. Probably cheapest too.

I just used a bit of silicone seal on the threads. Cheap cheap

My Old/Arthritic/FU hands could not even push the screwdriver handle tools thru. My buddy said to use the T-handle tools and glue to lube it and on my wife's P-series tire, I repaired it. I just had a puncture in on of my LT tires with 8 plies and Kevlar, I couldn't do anything even with the T-handles, so, screw to the rescue. It has held for a couple weeks now!!!

You can use a drill with aspecial bit or cut off the T-handle and chuck it in the drill.

I DO hate when you get a quote from a tire shop, then they want to do one of the methods shown above.
