A friend of mine had a 1962 Windsor 4-door hardtop station wagon he was going to restore, to go along with his 1962 Chrysler 300 hardtop. He heard of another 1962 wagon he could buy for parts on Manitoulan Island. He took his trailer and bought this New Yorker wagon, and dragged it home. This is when he discovered this car was longer than his. His Windsor had 122" wheelbase, while the New Yorker was on a 126" wheelbase. That extra 4" was all in the nose, instead of the rear floor pan, where one would expect it. The New Yorker hood, front fenders, and front frame rails were all 4" longer than his Windsor.
