Those work great for making cheap mechanical arm float switches for water tank pumps.

Great switch for an under hood light that activates when you open up the hood. Same for trunk light.

I put one under my Jeep hood. The
light comes on only when the hood is
up.
Been thinking about trying one on
the freezer (chest type).

My brother claimed his ‘75 Trans Am used one for the trunk light. He had the back seat out at one point and said it would go on and off during acceleration and braking.
