I don't think they put the 6.6 in 1/2 ton trucks. I have 2 of them, an 07 and a 2011. The 07 has 420000 on it and has never been opened up.Mine is a 2020 1500.... Again, I think its the big 6.6 diesels
Yes , great Engineering there rates 150,0000 miles for replacement. Transmission will be needed to be pulled. On duramax Forum possible to 200,0000
Yes, they were a black cloud that hung over GM for years. They took a gas engine and called it a diesel. Had a friend that had a truck with one. He bought it because he drove a long distance to work and could diesel fuel from work. If you wanted to pass a snail you needed to floor it a mile ahead. It had NO power at all. They offered and did convert some back to gas. It didn't matter it was to late, it was a black mark on them for years. JUNK!!!
YesAren't those the ones with the belt driven oil pump?
I read up alot on that before I purchased mine... Simpler to R&R the transmission instead of pulling the entire front end apart.... There is a plate on the back of the engine you unbolt and the belt is right there....Yes , great Engineering there rates 150,0000 miles for replacement. Transmission will be needed to be pulled. That must have been done because of a bean counter! Even the biggest moron engineer wouldn't use a pin as a drive instead of a key on a crankshaft. GM has been doing way dumb stuff for way too many years....
Bean counters have always been the biggest problem in any business industry. Chrysler went through it all the time. That must have been done because of a bean counter!
