GM To Repurchase 2022 Silverado HD, Sierra HD Units Due To Duramax Diesel Engine Quality Issue???!!!

Yes , great Engineering there rates 150,0000 miles for replacement. Transmission will be needed to be pulled. On duramax Forum possible to 200,0000

That's what I was thinking. Not a cheap job if you have a shop or dealership do it if one keeps the truck to that mileage point.

Yes, they were a black cloud that hung over GM for years. They took a gas engine and called it a diesel. Had a friend that had a truck with one. He bought it because he drove a long distance to work and could diesel fuel from work. If you wanted to pass a snail you needed to floor it a mile ahead. It had NO power at all. They offered and did convert some back to gas. It didn't matter it was to late, it was a black mark on them for years. JUNK!!!

I worked for Oldsmobile Corp as a Service Rep during that time. We bought a lot those cars back, some voluntary and some thru arbitration. Funny thing is, when customers found out we were taking their vehicle straight to the crusher many got upset. We'd take them to the crusher, bust the windshield, take the VIN and watch them crush them.

I read up alot on that before I purchased mine... Simpler to R&R the transmission instead of pulling the entire front end apart.... There is a plate on the back of the engine you unbolt and the belt is right there....
The belt that runs the oil pump is designed to be lubricated by the oil for longevity also.....
We will see...... Sure is a great driver so far...

That must have been done because of a bean counter! Even the biggest moron engineer wouldn't use a pin as a drive instead of a key on a crankshaft. GM has been doing way dumb stuff for way too many years....
Bean counters have always been the biggest problem in any business industry. Chrysler went through it all the time.
