You're preaching to the choir. I definitely get it, I don't do gravel, period. I've had a 250 foot concrete driveway. That nothing compared to your situation, but I get it.
I don't do gravel roads anymore. I have not been on one for about 10 years, now. The last time I drove one, I had my 2005 Magnum R/T for sale, and I was taking a 2 mile gravel road shortcut back to my place. I met an oncoming truck that must have been going about 300 mph., and it flung a meteorite into my windshield. I had to pay to have the windshield replaced before I could sell the car. I vowed that was my last gravel road!

Yep after 32 years we've had enough of it. Paving is lined up for June/July. No cars for a couple years after 26,000 square feet of pavement go down. Hopefully most can just be fine graded and paved, as that's only $2 a square foot. It's excavation and fill that is another $6/sq. ft ! If that is determined to be more than a small portion of it, it'll be mud 'till I die. I'm not blowing $200K on pavement. Based on where I know it'll need dug, and a second layer for three pointing fuel trucks I'm hoping we come in below 80 grand.

Ouch. Yes, I would obviously want pavement too, but that is a tough pill to swallow. I hope very little needs excavation and fill!

We have been at our house for just over 3 years. I'm done with the gravel/dirt. Paving it end of May/early June. Going asphalt. My wife and daughter are bucking me all the away. They say it won't be "aesthetically pleasing". They are driving me bonkers.

I have less than you. Paving around 10k sq feet.
When we bought our house in 1976, it had an asphalt driveway with what looked like a dusting of cement. Looks a little grey. It has stood the test of time quite well.
Might possibly be worthwhile to look into it for brownie points.

run a PEX plumbing loop under the new pavement, terminate the ends in your garage near a power source. For future hot-antifreeze circulation.

Trust me.

I should have done that 15 years ago when I paved my 1/4 mile driveway.....

The latest issue of MUSCLE CARS has a couple of nice articles on both a 1975 road runner, and a 1971 6-BBL road runner, which also is the centerfold. Also lots of Javelin info, including the Trans Am racing series.

It's a Canadian magazine, so it might not show up in every news stand.
