Qa1 w/Wilwood brakes question

Hey all, I'm working on a 72 Satellite with the Qa1 front suspension (K-member and everything). I have the Wilwood 12.8" front disc brake kit. Anyway...I cannot get the caliper successfully centered and mounted. It appears that the rotor is slightly off-center in the caliper - which of course results in not being able to get the brake pads in, or if I get them in the rotor won't turn. Has anyone run into anything like this? The only way I can see to remedy this, would be to grind a little off the bracket to bring things to center.

they use washers to space it correctly, should be in the kit.

With this kit, it appear the shims will adjust the height of the caliper in relation to the rotor, but not the caliper side-to-side. And it's seriously like 1/8" off at most - a matter of too much material (adding shims to the bracket would only make the spacing worse).

ah, the kit I had for my charger I shimmed it from side to side when you stated the rotor wasn't centered it led me to that. I do have a larger set of rotors on my 34 which required a different bracket I would call wilwood they are easy to deal with. the number 20 washer on your directions looks to be what I was referring to. seems like I changed out some kind of bracket because of the larger rotors

I will be calling them on Monday. This is an all-inclusive kit, supposedly made to fit my application...but I've already had to exchange some of the bolts that were wrong... So, I'm skeptical... Thank you!

Good luck. My experience with them about 10 years ago was absolutely pathetic. They were totally unethical.

I had to machine my Wilwood calipers for specifically the exact same reason as your problem.
