I am trying to finish console install and it seems I didn’t get or lost the small front panel (4 speed cutout) hold down bracket

No one seems to sell them ??? Ideas ???

You could probably make your own with a piece of steel, bent up in a vice and drilled for the two screw mounts at the front of the console plate. Or place a want-to-buy (WTB) ad here and you will probably find someone with a spare one.

They are the same as automatic if you are talking about the piece at the very front of the top plate that holds it down on the plastic body..

Ok let me see if I can find a small piece of steel - seems a horrible design - why didn’t they just put tabs on plastic console for posts to go threw and tighten nuts - it was 1965 I know

It’s made so when you unscrew the 2 Phillips head screws under the glove box door you can lift and slide it back for easy removal. If it had studs you would not be able to get access to the front screws to remove the console…
