Dumb question maybe. I want to check out some vendor stuff on Thursday so I can go to South Mountain drags on Friday. I don’t have a vendor spot or even a show car pass. Can you buy tickets to get in Thursday? They have it listed as a ‘setup day’ and official show days are Friday on. Guess I’m hoping I can get in Thursday with a ticket. Let me know if any of you have gone Thursday and just bought a ticket at the gate.

Thank you!

I bought an event pass on Thursday for the whole weekend for like $30
Was awesome

Best part was not having to wait in line on Friday / Saturday buying tickets

Thursday is vendor set-up day. We used to show up Thursday afternoon and ask to get in to pick up pre-arranged parts from vendors, and they used to let us. We had paid admissions, though, for the weekend.

Just got this emailed to me. Yawn.

Fireside Chat at Carlisle Chrysler Nationals

Get ready for something special at this year's Carlisle Chrysler Nationals (July 11-13) - Chrysler's CEO Chris Feuell is attending! She'll be here Friday, July 11, which is pretty huge since you don't usually see the head of a major car brand rolling up to a car show! The timing couldn't be better since Chrysler just hit their 100th birthday on June 6th.

The Chrysler Fireside Chat will take place at the Grandstand at 1:30 on Friday. Click the button below to email a question to: Questions@CarlisleEvents.com for a chance to have your question asked; we'll choose 4-5 questions to ask Chris Feuell. Time is short --Submit your question by EOD Tuesday, July 8th to make sure it is considered by our team!

…….so I can go to South Mountain drags on Friday.

Maybe a little off-point, but how do you understand the South Mountain schedule?

Gates open at 8:00 am, but it sounds like actual on-track time doesn’t start until 3:00pm, and eliminations at 6:00pm. Is that the way you understand it?

I’m thinking maybe getting to the fair grounds when they open, and then heading to the track after lunch to maybe get in a couple passes before eliminations. But concerned that getting into the fairgrounds might be a mess if I’m on a schedule.

Any insight from anyone would be appreciated.

We used to head over to South Mountain from Carlisle show about 4 p.m. on Friday night. The one year we were there, we witnessed a classic showdown between Dick Landy and his '68 Hemi Dart against Ronnie Sox and his '68 Hemi 'Cuda. Never to be repeated!

Time shots start at 3ish.I normally leave the fairgrounds around 1/ 1:30 for the 20 minute drive to the Mountain. I won't be bringing the car, engine is apart......

I found a FB post that said gates don’t open until 1. Tech opens at that time and time runs start at 3 eliminations at 6pm. I’m planning on getting to SM around 1:30, get through tech and ready to make a couple passes. I was planning on just doing the trophy class. The website does say gates open at 8 but the time trials at 3, race at 6 are consistent.

Yep, the 8 am thing is confusing.

Thanks

I may try that Thursday. Site shows it's still $30 for an event pass...and it also shows

Thursday
Set-Up Day with ticketed admission, 7am-6pm

So sounds like you can get in Thursday to browse. That may be my "truck day" lol. I'll have to ask what the upcharge is if I have an event pass and decide to show one or two days....

Just a reminder as Al noted - the kick off party is across the street on Thursday. Starts around 4:00 I think, or least that's the time I usually stumble over there. :drinks:

I've purchased tickets on Thursday in the past, planning on it again this week.

Getting in Thursday was no issue like you guys said. In fact, it may be part of my new Carlisle routine. Most vendors were setup and selling by afternoon and really no body around.

we'll choose 4-5 questions to ask Chris Feuell.

1) do you like dog dish hub caps?

2) why is the '70 Coronet grille your favorite?

3) is there a Top Feuell dragster in the works?

4) can you stop the use of old model names for new cars?

5) will the next Chrysler car be as reliable as a Lexus?

Oh, I'm late.
