Carlisle Tent Activities 2025 - Volunteers Needed!

The weather felt like home for me after the rain came through. The muggy humidity dropped off a LOT.
All the rain and humidity has an upside. The scenery in this state was epic. GREEN everywhere, trees everywhere, it was beautiful. This is what drew us to look at Tennessee. The humidity pushed us away from it. Here in Northern California, it turns green around early February and starts to brown out by early June. If we had the rain through the Spring and Summer, we would be green all year but then probably have the humidity too.
I'm learning that no place is perfect but your home is stunning to see. I'm absolutely grateful to have had the chance to see it.

We enjoyed having everyone from wherever they came from, but it certainly takes a lot of effort (and cost of course) for those folks who come from afar. Dave, @71RRHI comes all the way from Hawaii, and you and others came from California. Thanks for coming see us and experience the show. Hopefully everyone enjoyed it - it is truly an experience that is hard to describe!

I didn't take many pictures, but to supplement some from what others have posted, here are a few from the tent.

On Friday, as has already been mentioned, Steve Dulcich stopped by and chatted with us. Cool, down to earth dude!

A couple of us hung around my vendor sites for dinner on Friday night

And my old 73 Road Runner was at the show again. Looks like Cole has added "Plymouth decals" to the side. Nice to see it still being loved and driven

So how many were at the tent? I'd love to have an exact number, but there were some issues. As usual, we missed a few people. I spoke with a FABO guy for a while (even visited his car) but I noticed he was not on the list. I'm sure we missed a few others but I doubt we missed as many as we have in the past. My insistence for the green bands is what helps us understand the numbers of people so we can better plan the food.

The next issue was a column I added called "total # of guests". Some interpreted that as the total including the person who signed in. Others interpreted it as additional guests excluding themselves.

Bottom line is we had a minimum of 94 confirmed people. Then we need to add a few for those who did not sign in, plus a few more for those that interpreted the total as "additional guests excluding themselves". If everyone interpreted it that way, we had 130 people, but I doubt that it correct.

My best estimate based on all this: Around 110 people

I just got an email from Carlisle that Steve Dulcich is going to be there this year. If any of you meet him say hi for me. I have met Steve Brulee and David Freiburger, so the would make the trifecta.
He stopped by the tent and sat in his golf cart. I spoke with him for about 15-20 minutes, tripping over my tongue, really respect him and his knowledge. We talked about him and wiley filming his youtube page and just general mopar stuff. I met him when I raced in roadkill nights in 23, he parked the bangshift cougar a few spots down from me in the same row. We talked then for a few minutes. He's a very nice guy that really embraces the celebrity status it seems. Shame that will fade away since the shows were canceled.

We attended SEMA in 2022, and I met Steve Brule at the Edelbrock booth. We chatted for about 10-15 minutes. He was a really nice guy. Freiburger was there too, but was just doing photo ops and signing autographs. I did ask him if Dulcich was coming, and he said no. I got the impression he didn't travel to a lot of shows, which is why I was surprised he was at Carlisle.

Thanks to everyone who cooked!! I have way too much stuff there to leave my spaces so I sent my wife over to grab some food and it was nice having something different than Sheetz to eat AND everything was excellent so Kudos to the Chef or Chefs. So hot out I think I got a buzz from the baked beans. LOL. @HawkRod even offered to run over some more ribs to my spaces!! Many Thanks to all!! It was nice seeing some of you guys who stopped by my spaces. That show is exhausting worked most of the day Wednesday then ran up there around 5pm set up tent, parked trailer and unloaded tables then it poured down rain. Thursday we got up at 4am and there at 6:15am setting up. Up at 4am again there at 6:30am finished unloading some more parts then the same on Saturday. Rain screwed everyone who was vending. We had to tarp everything and dry off stuff. Packed from 5pm and left there at 8:50pm only leaving the tent and some tables to grab in the morning. When we got home a little after 10pm there was this beautiful orange moon over the mountain I live on. Hit a massive rainstorm heading home after grabbing my tables and taking down the tent on Sunday. Shortly after that I passed @turbine68rt on the turnpike blowing my horn at him as I was cruising a little faster. I sure hope you didn't get caught in that storm as it definitely tested your weather stripping and tires!! I went from 80 to 20mph in about 1/4 mile and still could not see and even going slow it was pulling the truck all over the highway. Paid for next year before I left which saved me the increase in the spaces for next year... Maybe next year I will just sell a car and enjoy the show. It was our 2nd best year so thanks to the buyers who showed up.

On another note.. Thankfully we didn’t get the rain there like we got around 4:30 as there has been highways closed and some small towns to be evacuated..

Oh effing no,FBBO rules clearly state in section 2 paragraph 7 you are not king until you have officially been crowned in a ceremony of your peers! As far as I effing know there is only one King! Long live the King! He wasn't the King,he was the royal taster, and when he didn't drop dead,I enjoyed my Lobster!

Brett, that storm came out of nowhere and we were so unprepared Pete and I had to pull into an emergency rest area just so he could roll up the windows in his wagon. I think we were doing 35 at one point. Luckily the Charger doesn't leak, but the short 2 speed wipers were a real scream when it dumped. Fortunately it didn't last very long.

Pete had his hair in a pony tail. I half expect it to look like this when he lets it loose....
