I have a 1969 Charger/383/auto I bought in December of 1972 when I was 16 for $1700. I still have the car but it needs quarter panels and some cylinder heads for the 383. My original heads were destroyed in a fire. I moved from IL to TN 3 years ago and I'm building a 30' x 40' garage here to work on it. I had 3 sets of aluminum heads i left in our IL house garage and the tenant let some theiving scumbag take my heads and $16,000 of other stuff. It was a friend of the family that we were renting our house to and she stiffed us on rent and disappeared. The cops were no help, even with photos and serial numbers I had.

Welcome from the central coast of Cal. Good luck on the new venture. And I hope wrongs get righted!

Welcome and sorry to hear how you got shafted. Had something similar happen, but not nearly as bad as yours. The investigating police were grilling me about my being the possible culprit boiling my blood and they never found squat, despite leads others had I gave them!

I’m an old guy who worked on cars; my last major project was about 4-years ago. Still manage to get involved with stuff I shouldn’t and usually regret it a day or two later, lol. I’m much better tool-equipped now than I used to be, now some less able. If only there were the nifty tools and equipment back when, I’d likely be less beat up than I am now, half a dozen surgeries later. But, can’t forget about what I could afford back when as opposed to today.

Anyway, as you’re building a new garage hope you are better equipped now to lessen the physical load on your body.
Good luck!
