Hello,

Edit*** sorry I should add he's looking for a 69 set of manifolds.

My friend has a classic 1966 vehicle equipped with a 383 engine. He currently has headers installed but is hoping to revert to the original stock headers. Would you happen to have any information or suggestions that could assist him in finding a set?

Thank you.

66-67 383's used a log type exhaust manifold.

They shouldn't be hard to find, but will limit exhaust flow. A lot of people upgrade to the 68-69 HP manifolds which provide better flow. I don't know that I have an extra set, but will be using this set on my 67 Satellite restoration.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I edited the post. He's looking for a set for 69.
Cheers

I read an article somewhere. Can’t remember now that somebody did a Dyno test on the log manifold and the HP and there was only like maybe 4 hp difference between them which was kind of surprising to me. It’s not much.

Yea that's why he wants to get those instead of headers. His headers hit his transmission pan.

After you find the manifolds consider tti for the rest of the system. I bought the manifold back for my 66 500 w/383 and the fit was perfect. I was hesitant about it due to cost but would not hesitate again.
