I'm needing to haul a 72 Plymouth b body from a field in the middle of nowhere and the tires are shot. I'm not finding a cheap set of wheels and tires that I could bolt on to allow me to load it on a trailer.. Would a set of trailer wheels and tires 205/75D15 5x4.5 work? It's about $100 bucks per wheel/tire with these.
Thanks in advance for your advice

Surely, someone around Springfield on Facebook Marketplace has some cheap tires and rims.

Go get some tires/spares off of a 1992-2011 Crown Victoria, or any other 5 on 4.5" auto.

No way I would spend $400 on trailer tires.

Hell, for that matter borrow the tires off of a friends car trailer. Most of the are also 5 on 4.5" pattern.

thanks!

Lots of jeeps take the same size wheel. They should be easy to find. If you look around I bet you could find 4 tires on rims for a 100 bucks.

I'm guessing you haven't bought trailer tires recently.

I think you missed the point. Why spend $400 on trailer tires to put on a car just to haul it?

Maybe refer to post #1 and you'll understand.

Tom
Oh, I understood. Recently had to put new tires and wheels on my cheap old open trailer. More than four hundred just for the tires, (chinese too!) and another two hundred plus for the wheels. And those were the best prices I could find for what I wanted. I was quoted $750 out the door for tires alone at one store.
The $100 trailer tires and wheels he talks about are $150 each here.
I agree, there HAS to be a better cheaper solution than to buy trailer tires....... unless he needs tires for his trailer!

Tire shops used to sell junk take off tires for cheap if you just want something to roll around. Get some junkyard wheels and you will get the car out of there.
