Took the Plunge EV

Stellantis buckled by killing off the Hemi so they effing suck too.....they are eating crow now!
The world of business runs a little bit deeper than dork wheels, stacks of cars and parts and your thoughts that our world is ending because of Stellantis, but I get it. The way things are unfolding at the governments end of it, the hemi's coming back.

My Coronet is part of my recreation, not my total life. My love for the smell of gas and being able to drive whatever I want is my reward for all the other things, other than cars, that define me. It's true, I don't turn wrenches anymore and dying with the most cars and parts all around me for someone else was never my dream. I guess I'm here for a different reason than you. When you and I are gone, none of this will matter. Till then, my goal is to "Let The Horses Run".

While I wish you good luck. (Seriously) The ev stuff wouldn’t have happened without government subsidies . The ev push, solar farms and wind mills are all a big scam without taxpayer funding we wouldn’t be here. Our fore fathers are laughing their sack off at us right now. I was told by a higher up in a large electric company in St Louis solar never ads up and I believe him. Coal / gas / and nuclear power your car and diesel dug the ores, etc etc.
I hate any Stellantis, vehicle as the quality is terrible. They treat Chrysler Corp like a red headed step child and throw the scraps to us and say isn’t it great? Everything except the full size truck, wrangler and Pacifica are all sloppy seconds... My wife’s. 65k Grand Cherokee L is a pile that thinks it a Maserati on the radio screen and constant lights for this or that... I stopped going to the dealer because they kept charge of me and nothing got fixed ever!
Good luck, please be safe with it and don’t park it inside the garage!
Do a little research, Globally, fossil fuel subsidies accounted for about 7% to 7.1% of global GDP in 2022, which is equivalent to $7 trillion, according to the International Monetary Fund. In 2023, global public financial support (subsidies) for renewable power, mainly targeting solar and wind energy, was at least about $168 billion, with advanced economies and China accounting for 95% of this support. This amount is less than one third of global fossil fuel subsidies, which were roughly $535 billion in G20 countries alone.

In regions where conventional electricity prices are relatively high, solar power can compete favorably by offering cheaper energy alternatives. Markets in Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and the UK have benefited from this dynamic, enabling solar projects to be profitable without subsidies by simply by selling power directly to the market.

USA is going to be left behind because too many people believe political crap being circulated that is simply not true. People think you can bury your head in the sand and wish for the good old days. in my life I have learned that the only thing you can count on is that things change, how well you deal with the changes, is what affects your life the most.

Everyone I know that has solar panels regretted buying them, the payments on them equal or exceed the price of their electric bills, and by the time they are paid for they will be obsolete. A guy I work with signed a 25 year contract, it's iron clad,no getting out of it. My other friend made payments on them for a year before the company could make them work. He still had to pay his full electric bills too. Not to mention the holes drilled into a perfectly good roof!

A family member had a similar experience, wouldn't listen to me when I had probing questions, didn't want to be bothered or didn't believe that I know a little on the subject, and of course has been disappointed. If I decide to go solar I'll row my own, I did an experiment with a couple of cheap battery back ups and a harbor freight solar panel on a partially cloudy day and got a full day of work, internet router, two laptops and two full size monitors.
Other than my refrigerator which is too big for my batteries I'm already set up for an extended power outage.

Enough said... there is always a *** for every seat just not this one. I don’t want to pay for someone to go solar either if you don’t have the money it’s your problem.

One Thing: I hope they make everyone that purchases Any of the Electric Vehicles, tools, power generation apparatus, Responsible for the Disposal of said items. Like the Windmill fallacy, what do you do with the broken, worn out parts, when they fail, just like the batteries from the EV's...

Here they are charging us fees on our monthly electric Bill's for solar panels and EVs and I don't have either!

Fake exhaust noise?
You have to hear it to appreciate. It's not noise it's music to your ears.
I have started 30 or 40 times at car shows and everybody can't believe how real it sounds. Skeptical until you hear it in person.

Solar panels do have an up front investment, but my mom's have worked flawless and she hasn't had an electric bill aside from the line charge in 15yrs. And she's got enough credits in the bank that if they stopped working it'd still be a long time before she had a bill.

A company came by and was selling them. My electric bill would be gone while I'm paying them for the system. I asked what would happen if I needed to replace my roof for whatever reason and the answer was, we would come out to remove the panels and we can replace the roof. They don't last forever and I'm too old to learn new tricks.

Fake exhaust noise?
Considering the fact that ev's don't emit an exhaust tone, it should be noted that they are embossed with one; therefore, it's technically not fake, just artificial.

An example of a "fake" exhaust noise would be like a Toyota Camry playing a Top Fuel dragster soundtrack at every stop sign or light.

Suppose you are getting your groove on with this hot chick, and you think you are clicking all the right buttons, and she's singing notes you never heard before, then you find out it was all fake.....simulated.....same effect

The point I'm making is not how good the fake engine sound is, but rather that it produces it.

I find that rather disappointing and somewhat hypocritical. Sorry.

As for EV's in general, batteries filling off the grid is laughable as a solution, especially when one considers we have hydrogen fuel cell technology with 75+ years of proven capability...and you get water as a byproduct.

My issue isn't with ev cars. It's with people thinking they're saving the world and they're simply not. The hate for gas has blinded people from the truth. If we put half the development focus on hydrogen that's been wasted on ev we would decades ahead.

I'm old now and love the sound of my Mopars too much to consider ev, but they are coming. It's just too bad they're not going to make the difference people think they're going to make....not on the current trajectory.

If you're going ev, go all in and leave the engine sounds to us dinosaurs, we're happy to carry that torch.

Now that is an idea, put solar panels ontop of the roof above the gas pumps so we can still get gas when the power is out!

Why use solar panels to run the pumps? Gravity feed from above ground tanks like the farmers! Lol
