Took the Plunge EV

Considering the fact that ev's don't emit an exhaust tone, it should be noted that they are embossed with one; therefore, it's technically not fake, just artificial.

An example of a "fake" exhaust noise would be like a Toyota Camry playing a Top Fuel dragster soundtrack at every stop sign or light.
Interesting thoughts. So I dug a bit deeper. The main difference between the 2 is fake means with the intent to deceive. So if your car has no engine, but you want people to believe it does, you would employ fake exhaust sound. Which was made artificially.

The Professor on Gilligan's Island used the bicycle to power things....Couldn't someone rig up a bicycle to run a pump to bring up fuel from underground tanks.
What was the deal with the Professor there anyway? The guy could make a radio out of a coconut but couldn't fix a hole in a boat ???

Come to think of it, who would leave a bicycle on an island? If it wasn't already on the island when they got there, why would they have had a bicycle on a tour boat ?

As for EV's in general, batteries filling off the grid is laughable as a solution, especially when one considers we have hydrogen fuel cell technology with 75+ years of proven capability...and you get water as a byproduct.

My issue isn't with ev cars. It's with people thinking they're saving the world and they're simply not. The hate for gas has blinded people from the truth. If we put half the development focus on hydrogen that's been wasted on ev we would decades ahead.
How would hydrogen development be any further ahead? Nearly all of commercial hydrogen production comes from fossil fuels anyway. I only know (personally) a handful of people driving electric cars, and none of them were interested in saving the planet. They wanted something that saved money in monthly operating costs, and got it. Electricity is cheap around here, gasoline isn't.

I bought it for the Color Looks and Power.
Not to save the planet. Beets the HELL out of going to and finding the least expensive gas price every time which is probably out of the way. Back it out of the garage with a full charge. $5K a year for gas V damn cheap for electric.
I'll do a electric bill calculation as the months go by. Already got a $300 credit from our electric supplier (ets program).
Two years from now or sooner wife will be getting a new EV SUV.

Wife wanted a new car. Wife (who works for the state…take that as a key for why) wanted an EV. Like a Tesla. That was a battle
Ended up with a compromise. Got this 2026 Honda hybrid AWD. It’s actually ok.

To each their own I guess. I want no part of EV ownership. EVs are goofy looking too. Like they went way over the top to make them futuristic looking.

If your talking Charger......you are in a vast minority.
Absolutely everybody who has seen it in person "loves it".
Not one negative comment other than I WOULD NEVER OWN A EV.

I have seen them in person, the Charger is one of the better looking ones, but I will take a Challenger all.day every day over any of them. I have two Challenges, and hope to add a Redeye widebody to the fleet.

I like them to but they have been the same for the last 16 years.

Have you noticed that a lot of the newer electric cars and trucks look identical to their gas powered counterparts?

Yep but zero to 60 in 2.9 seconds, 10.8 quarter mile on street tires, and 203 mph top end is pretty hard to beat in their price range. Plus they pass emissions and can be driven cross country with the AC on.

Steve, there was one at the June Mopar Club Day, at the local track. It had a small group around it. He started it up, and most of the crowd walked away, including myself. Must have been the Real Cars, with the Big/Small blocks, and the Naturally produced sound, roaring down the strip, that drew their attention. Sorry, Fake is Fake...

Everybody is so serious about where the sound comes from. I don't mind the idea of the fake/artificial/pickyourterm sound. Or at least I stopped caring once I saw you can turn it off. The stealth option is nice since even the stock exhaust on my Scat Pack Challenger was kind of annoying and screamed "Look at me"
To me its still about fun, and I can sit there making electronic exhaust sounds for a few minutes thinking its fun, maybe its because I also like video games and will rev for no reason in Forza?
I'm wayyyyyy more annoyed by owners of gas cars who do things to make their cars really loud. They gut/cut whatever to turn up the volume, so the sound increase isn't a byproduct of more power. And I do realize a performance exhaust can give more power and they are louder, I'm not talking about that. Thats just as bad or maybe worse than the EV because they can't turn it off at will. Or at 3AM when they drive down my street.
Also I think all the fake is fake, fake is bad people here, or a large percentage, won't mind the word fake quite as much if its followed by the word "boobs"

This is all tongue in cheek so don't get all riled up

That's funny because when I started mine up last Sunday it drew a crowd. And continued to be a crowd pleaser there. So I'm OUT with all this Fake BS. Don't bother to reply cause I will not reply. HAVE A NICE DAY.

It sure seems that if you find yourself seeing traffic FACING you, you may be in the wrong lane.
