Ive been wanting a 4 post lift for some time…. but my tiny garage has low ceiling. Im wondering if anyone has this same situation but did get a 4 post? I’m looking to see if I can only raise 3’, is it worth it?

Maybe you tell us whatnthe gain will be for you.
What work can you perform 3' off the ground with car weight on the wheels?

4 post hoist is 6K these days. Is it worth it?

How tall is your ceiling? The first garage I had mine in had a ceiling a few inches short of 10’. It worked reasonably well but underneath I was pretty bent over. My current garage is about 10’8” and it’s a little tighter than I’m comfortable with in trying to get my 2 Mopars on the highest position so I usually set it on the next from top position. Still have to stoop over some underneath at 6’2” but it works. My other cars are sports cars and I can park them on the top lock position without issue. My lift is an older AutoLifters which is a little smaller compared to many of them sold now. If you are way short of a 10’ ft ceiling, you might want to look at one of the shorter, mobile 2-post lifts that are on the market. One I’m thinking of requires red head anchors to be set in the floors and when setting it up the post is wheeled into position on built in casters and 3 or 4 bolts quickly run into the anchors to secure it. I think they will lift to about 4’ off the floor.

I guess if 6K is worth 3 feet of lift you could work from a mechanics stool like the ones from Harbor Freight that are adjustable for height. Still better than laying on the floor! I know at 74 years young it's no fun anymore. RUFFCUT

My ceiling is about 7.5ft, not home to measure, I figured if i could “cart” around instead of lying on my back?
Was hoping someone has done this too see if worth it

My garage is 10'4". It is tight, but I make it work.

Here's my buddy's short 2 poster. Not sure what the height of the car roof ended up at. But it's pretty handy

A scissor lift might be a better fit for your garage. My scissor lift can raise my car so the rocker panel is at my forehead height.

I bought five of these Universal 8000 lb. Storage lifts. They are decent quality and ate 4 grand a piece. But I have 12 foot ceilings. When I built the garage I had planned to put three storage lifts in it. Now I have more cars to store,so I upped it to five.

I have the two post asymmetrical lift in the work bay. There are a few different portable luft options these days as well. You just need to get the one that is the best fit for your garage and intended use.

Youd still be king of the neighborhood for brake jobs lol.....i assume you are going to get a rolling bridge jack to go along with it. One other note; if your concrete and the pad outside the garage is real nice, you should get the wheel kit and you can do the same work as everyone else, on nice days and weekends.
