I imagine the price tag will be far more than an average person wants to assume, but many will gladly fork out whatever it takes to procure one. For me??? Not interested in assuming an inflated interest rate to buy one and then having to insure it just in order to drive it... occasionally!!! Besides, I prefer the old school muscle over the new stuff being offered...cr8crshr/Bill :usflag::usflag::usflag:

 
ABSOLUTELY, No interests in a straight 6 turbo at all, in any car
no matter the reviews
if it was in a Dakota 4x4 maybe (even then give me a Hemi), not a car

unless it's a 12 valve Cummins in a cool old PowerWagon
even then not in the market
 
I would wait for the Hellcat version before buying any of the other subpar crap they are pushing now. The Hellcat will be back. None of this other crap is going to sell. They can't give the EV versions away,the 6 cylinder models will face the same fate.
 
I used to want a Buick GN, so six cylinders doesn't bother me. What I like is that the two door model is $2000 cheaper than the four door.
 
Just a marketing gimmick playing on something that was tangible now is just a name in plastic engine cover.

Biggest problem I see is, none of the manufacturers except Cummins (6.7 octane), have figured out that all the internal components need to much beefier for forced induction, then a v-8 v-6 N/A engine. You just can’t slap a turbo or 2 on any old engine they have laying around, make twice its na power and think it will survive.
 
They are aiming at a younger demographic than most of us, but can that younger demographic afford to purchase or lease one; and will they be interested in all that stuff on the dashboard? Is that the appeal for the younger demographic? Lots of electronic gadgets and exterior cameras. Longterm reliability is going to stink.

Automatic transmission and they aren't discussing it? What??? Ok, it has a 8 speed. Is it at least a dual-clutch 8 speed automatic? A "sporty car" needs a manual transmission.

Anyway, this new 2 door Charger weighs 400+ pounds more than the outgoing 2023 Hellcat Challenger.

Nothing wrong with a twin turbo inline six, but it depends on who designed it and manufactured it. What do we know about the 3.0 liter Hurricane HO? Nothing...all I could find is "marketing words". Anyone seen hP/torque curves for the Hurricane HO? Quality & reliability are yet to be TBD.

The discontinued Chevy Camaro looked better, but it was a bit on the portly side too. It was too expensive IMO.

I am sure the turbo 6 will be powerful, and is built well enough to make it to warranty most of the time without anytihng super bad happening. I mean what else can you expect right now?
Personally, if the EPA really is doing away with stuff and letting the manufacturers make some actual cars/engines? Then i will wait for one designed outside of the current EPA rules. The turbo 6 was designed to meet the EPA emissions rules, and as such I am sure it is strung out to the max and not built to be a 150,000 mile engine, much less 200+.
Plus, no word on that dipstick yet.

As for hurricane vs hurricane HO? No one has heard anything because 9/10 i bet you they are getting that extra power out of some tuning of course, but out of an add on EV booster that will eat the starter motor and put a volcano battery under your seat. Hard pass.

IF i decide I want to take on a mortgage payment worth of new car payment(not likely) it is going to be after they have time to design an actual engine and not an EPA air pump. So probably at least 3 years. Maybe the 6.2 will get some updates and become standard. maybe we will see a new big block. Ford did it. Maybe they will bring back a real 426 hemi. Wouldn't that be something. They could even reuse the old commercials from the truck ads from 20 years ago.

I think the RAM HO is rated at 540 hp and it pushes a 6,000 lb truck pretty quickly. I’ve heard the turbo boost tops out as high as 28 psi so it’s a bit of a hand grenade with a loose fitting pin. But so far no one is reporting significant engine issues with the Hurricane. But electrical systems and components are driving some of them crazy. There are some Jeep version issues reported (not sure if resolved on RAM) with plastic thermostat housings. They are now offering 10/100,000 powertrain warranties on the MY26 vehicles.
 
I'm not sure why you guys hate straight 6's soo much.... they make great torque and if made properly (something chrysler won't do.. cause chrysler...) they are very tough.. look at the 300 ford straight 6.. those things were great motors....

P.S. the thing you should be hating on is the body in that pic.... that is a horrible design (to me)

Well the difference is that the hurricane was designed from the ground up to be what it is, it's not a cobbled together old design (that 350 diesel was a pile of ****)..

Also.. someone already got a hurricane into the 9s...
 
The 99% of buyers for new muscle cars like the Chargers and Challengers want good ole V8s not electric motors or turbo six cylinders. I can only afford one newer daily driver vehicle and because I tow a car trailer and 27' camper my last three have been Rams and so I can`t afford a $50-70k new "toy".
