I have a little bit of a predicament.

I closed my hood today so I can try moving my 67 Charger in the driveway. I went to unlock the hood, and it seems the rod from the handle that is used to unlock the hood, fell out and is not connected to the hood lock. I thing the little grommet for that rod is missing, and thats probably why is fell out. Anyone know a good way to open the hood and aslo know the part # for that grommet?

You should be able to look between the grille and hood, and see how to release it.

I was able to get it open. I had to bend the panel beneath the radiator. It rusted in half anyway. And sure enough, the little grommet that holds the rod in place is missing. So now I have to look for a replacement.

Think outside the box. Check out places that might have something similar, possibly auto supplier, electrical supply. Never know what you could find. Or place a wanted ad.

Wow! That shield is rusted out. Surely someone would have a nice one, I think all 66-7 b bodies were the same. Where did your car come from?

The original owner lived in MD. I bought the car in N.J.
