Just bought this pretty decent 383 4 speed car. It needs a little work, like some nasty rust in the passenger side rocker & both lower quarters, the driver's side ball joints and the entire suspension & steering is BAD, I need to hook up some stuff like lights & the horn, and it needs a new clutch & throwout bearing. I'm not sure if I'll ever get the bodywork done or paint it. I kinda like the harlequin look. It's a center console/pistol grip/air grabber/rallye dash car, and was originally Top Banana I believe

Yeah, I spent a few winters in Chicago, hard pass... 78-81 I was stationed at the Amphib Base in Coronado... Had a GF in real estate that was pushing me to buy a place... Wish I'd listened... The 100K for a 3/2 in Coronado seemed insane. when places here in Modesto were selling for $35K Another mistake young guys make.... Gotta see the bigger picture...

My aunt bought a 3 bed/2 bath ranch in El Cajon, on a larger lot with a covered porch & view across the valley for I think $230k in the late 90s & we all thought she was crazy. That house is probably worth an easy million now!

Welcome from PA. The metal on your car is the envy of those of us here in the northeast rust belt. I have a high school friend who fled the winters here, and ended up close to you in Rancho Bernardo. He bought a ranch house in the 80s, still has it. He made most of the down payment by selling antiques he brought with him from back east. I flew out to visit him in 1996, and drove a '66 Imperial I bought in Escondido home.
