Anybody know this 70 Coronet R/T that got wrecked?

I thought the drawn out restoration time was for his projects or "show" customers, I had no idea besides the cost you have to put up with that.

A buddy of mine took his car there... Paying customer, in the end his car did get some air time but that wasn't originally the plan.... It took over eight years... In the end my buddy is happy with the car and considering the original contract was from 2014 I gotta give Worman credit, he stuck to the original quote.... Is the car perfect? No.. But it's damn nice...

Okay, Now I feel like an ***....
Randy/1 Wild R/T does not consort with idiots so I have to clarify. Of the 3 to 5 Sacramento area guys that I know that have mentioned that they have considered Worman to do their cars, all of them were as I described. Nice guys but not the sharpest guys around.
I do know that not everyone has reliable and trustworthy contacts for parts and services so they may find a one stop shop to be quite appealing. I'd wager that THIS is a huge reason that Mark has this show. It is a 60 minute advertisement for his services.
Maybe the guys that I know were just tired of not being able to find a shop that is willing to do the work.
In 2023, I spoke with a former employer. You may remember Dave Rea. When he left, their next guy was named Justin.

He spoke of the L-O-N-G delays for the builds including a Road Runner that took 9 years and wasn't completed until the owner was in Hospice care. They took the car to the facility where the owner was, he sat in the car but was too sick to drive. He died a week later.
Do you want to wait until you're on your deathbed to take a ride in your car?
Justin spoke of the paint shop quality, how many cars needed to be repainted. He said that the "daughter" is not related to Mark.
Watching the show for years, You'd think they only did 68-70 B body and E body cars. Maybe that is because it costs as much to restore a Duster as a 383 Road Runner but the RR would not be as far upside down as the Duster would be when finished.

The guy that owns the Cuda owns and has owned a lot of nice cars, that said he makes choices I don't agree with & wouldn't make myself.... It works for him & I'm glad he's able to make it work.... He bought the Cuda as a project & before I even knew he'd bought it he had it delivered to Worman.... I tried to get him to pull it but he'd already left a deposit & was locked into having it done there...
It took a long time but in the end it worked out pretty well....

I know one guy who's a big Porsche fan, sent a 1950 Pre A 356 to a well known resto shop in Oregon, Trusted them, got regular pictures & invoices, seemed professional.. Than he heard rumors of impending bankruptcy, popped in for a visit un-announced, he car had been stripped & parts sold off... The pictures were of other cars that the shop had restored... He got a "judgement" but what good is that when the guy has declared bankruptcy???

I know someone else who had a 49 VW Beetle restored by a shop somewhere in the Rockies (Those who know know) that took years, went over budget by 400% and a lot of rare original parts got "misplaced" and replaced with inferior reproduction parts....

So considering that I think Worman treated my buddy okay...

The idea of a person's car sitting and waiting for it's turn is inconvenient. When it becomes a parts car for other projects, that is criminal.

That part right there, I've had health scares and a number of people around me kick the bucket. Its a big motivator in not caring about a resto vs having something I can drive and enjoy while I am healthy, even if its a car only the Roadkill crowd would enjoy. I'm all about fix and drive then fix some more, but keep driving and avoid downtime.
If I do an engine swap I plan to stage it all so I can be done in a weekend if possible.
