Wife gets 2 anniversary presents today

Wow! 55 years ago today, my lovely bride and I were married. I was 19 and she was 18. People told us we were too young and it would not last, well, probably not, but we’re still going. She is always with me at cruise ins and car shows. I don’t know what I would do without her. All she asks is to continue camping and we just got back from our camping trip in the Smokies. A couple days ago, we were talking and she asks me where do I want to go out to eat for our anniversary. I said, let’s have a party. So, we invited old friends, one of them being my best man.
So yesterday, our refrigerator decides to stop working and she had just unloaded the camper fridge and turned it off. She turned the camper fridge back on and loaded it back up, by herself, as I am not able to carry anything (sucks). So, the rest of the goods from the house refrigerator is now in 2 big coolers in our kitchen. So I ordered a new refrigerator yesterday by phone and it’s coming today sometime. Her original gift I bought is supposed to get here sometime late afternoon.
So the refrigerator is coming and they are taking the old one away. The kicker is, this morning the old one is ice cold, go figure.

Happy Anniversary to you two. A gift with an electrical cord has always been a no-no at my house. LOL. My wife and I hit 54 years this year.

You’re probably right. That’s one of the things that I replaced a few years ago. Took me a while to find a date on the fridge. It says 2006. I guess it’s time. I could probably keep it running, but she says she wants the new one.

1971 we bought our first house. Had to really scrape up the money for the down payment. Managed to purchase a used 9 cu foot apartment size fridge. 25.00. It moved with us to the house we are now in, 1976. It became a secondary fridge then because we got a new fridge and stove. (Avocado green)!!!. 1984 we put the back up fridge into the cabin we were building. Fridge was still working when we were last at the cabin. It could be close to 60 years old.

Congrats on the 55 years together @wahya ...that's a great milestone.

We're closing in fast on 33 years.... and similar to Wayne @dadsbee we started with married life with about 20 bucks between us on our journey back from Scotland to London in 1992. Sometimes starting out with nothing means you work harder to achieve a good result.

Thanks everyone, it was hectic and memorable day. We had about 20 friends over for dinner. Fridges contents in two big ice chests. The new fridge delivered a little bit late in the middle of this and they had to take the front door off. We had way too much bbq, so my wife had the delivery guys take some of it with them.
