3 speed wiper motor restoration

I need to swap out my 2 speed motor for a 3 speed unit in order to install my N96 air grabber setup. Purchased this 68 3 speed motor and decided to restore it myself today. First time working on one of these and nothing very difficult so far. Will try to find a firewall rubber seal for it though, as original is pretty dry. Ill post more pics once I get it painted up and reassembled.

Piece of cake! Polish the armature commutator with 600 grit. Also test both the armature and the stator with a multimeter. If anything is shot its most like either of those. You can Google or YouTube how to do that.

I just got in from the shop after working on my 2 speed to 3 speed wiper set up on my 70 to night

Looking at your pictures is that the arm from the 2 speed wiper motor set up you have there ?
A 3 speed arm is clocked different
The rectangle hole that mounts it to the motor shaft runs parallel with the arm and not off to an angle like yours
Well at least on the 70 stuff I am working on
Yours looks like 68 stuff so not totally sure about that

The placement of the hole has to do where the park postion is set up

My GTX is a 1969. The 3 speed wiper motor is from a 1968. The arm is what was on the 3 speed when I got it. Im hoping it is the correct one for my application, but will not know until I get it installed. But from the looks of the internal park mechanism, I should be able to clock the home position almost anywhere in a 360 deg rotation.

I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Hopefully this will bolt in and work for my 69.

You need more than just the arm, you need the cam also - which is specific to 3-speed.
