Not too often an original fender tag shows up that does NOT have an inspection stamp. That was LOT of coin for a U code bird regardless of how many owners it’s had. The flipper may end up taking some red in his books for this one. Just my .02.

Depending on the quality, and present condition of the restoration, and with the Value of the US $ today, I think it was a pretty good price for the buyer...

Edit: I looked closer at some of the pics, and it wasn't "Show" quality, so a more extensive look at it would be needed...

Something very odd about this car. Notice the "patina" on the air cleaner, exhaust manifolds, oil filler cap, vacuum advance, radiator, etc. But the engine paint looks relatively fresh. Is it odd to everyone the fender tag is not body color? The auctioneer mentions that 7 of the VINs were "matched." Wonder if the car was taken apart to do that? Would be tough to paint the motor in the car and not get overspray on something.

"In 2003, the slumber broke. Rust in the quarters and trunk was cut out, the interior redone, and the engine rebuilt."

Auctioneer (@ 20:34 mark) says 7 of 8 VIN checked and he noted the trunk gutter wasn't checked because it's under the rubber. I guess they didn't try looking from inside the trunk?

3) Engine block pad
4) Transmission housing pad
5) Dash VIN plate
6) Driver's door sticker
7) Trunk gutter (not checked per video)
8) TBD

I bet there are at least nine locations.

I thought they said in the video that the dutchman panel needed replacement, thus the incorrect number there ?

Odds are the dealer will make money , depending on the quality of it in person obviously

Mopar experts can recognize incorrections, but you really have to be a dumbass to put a GLARING OBVIOUS blunder as these two, to start off, on an iconic car such as this.

Obviously this Superbird had a complete restoration at some time.

It was not a high quality restoration and the car was not stored very well and/or maintained.
