I climbed under my 67 Charger to check out why the fuel gauge might not be working (Looks like it's the sending unit) and saw there was only one strap. The tank is solid, tight and not moving around at all and I did not see any more holes where the straps would go. I'm guessing it only needs one strap?

Are you talking about the straps that hold up the tank or the ground strap for the sending unit?

A gallon of gas roughly weighs 6 + pounds. With a 19 gal. capacity tank as in my 66 Charger, that's 114 lbs of fuel in the tank when full, plus the weight of tank itself ! And to think it's all hanging and dependent on that "question mark" formed bolt into the frame with a nut ... all while sloshing around while going down the road. I try not to think about it .....

The one strap is toward the front of the car.
Picture please. I assure you that the one strap is sufficient. Just be sure the tank pad between the top of the tank and the bottom of the car is in place or you will have rattles and squeaks you can't get rid of.

Well, I have to say... there is no shake, rattle or roll. So I think I'm good to go.

That bolt looks strong; Id be worried about that strap before the bolt holding it.

My 62 has 1 strap and it stresses me... one little J bolt between me and a really bad day.. but it hasn't been an issue soo meh..
