Hey FBBO,
my dad and I spend a lot of time restoring our cars – mainly our ’68 Charger RT – and over the years we’ve ended up making a few parts that (as far as I know) nobody else really offers. Since we had to figure this stuff out for ourselves, I thought I’d share a couple of them here in case anyone else could use them.
Only catch: I’m located in Germany, so shipping would be from here.
Trunk Lock Rivet Kit (2 pcs):
We completely tore down the trunk lock, drilled out the two rivets that hold it together, and refinished all the individual parts (I zinc-plated them myself).
I kept the original rivets, made a technical drawing, and had a buddy reproduce them for me. They turned out really accurate and install nicely with just a little bit of work.
Horn Switch Rivet Kit (3 pcs):
I’ve rebuilt several of these horn switches already. All the steel parts got replated, the plastic bits were cleaned in an ultrasonic bath, and I had the rivets remade.
They fit great and are super easy to install as well.
I just wanted to ask if anyone here would be interested in stuff like this. I’ve already made a bunch of other rivets and small parts we needed along the way, like:
…and a few more. I’ll post those later once I’ve tested and confirmed the fit.
If this sounds useful to you, let me know!
Cheers,
Yannik
