I checked my ground, I checked all my wires, I can’t make it workAre you sure it’s doa? Those units are very sensitive and must have a clean good ground or they will not fire. Don’t ask me how I know because I bought a new one once when it had no fire. Found the ground wire had broken inside the insulation and that was keeping it from working. Good clean power and ground.
Perhaps the best use of a "cool wall hanging pix" (of you?..presumably) is in the B.R. next to the porcelain convenience, to be used in case of emergency???.......just a thought......Don’t pm me if you want a cool wall hanger it’s spoken for……although you could if you want a cool wall hanger….you just won’t know what you’re getting until it shows up!!!![]()
Points system is not generally better......it's just significantly less complicated, and easier to maintain and less costly to repair, when maintenance is required and not very likely to leave you stranded. It's all a state of mind......if you THINK it's better, then your mind will convince you it IS better and therefore justify the higher cost. The old adage of: "Monkey see, Monkey do" may apply......plus the blazing 50 horsepower the electronic ignition system provides....(???).....WOW !!!! imagine all that extra HP. And bragging rites at the local car cruises.......just my opinion of course........So found in more places then points ignition….which I still haven’t heard a valid or even a smart *** reason why if points are so much better then why has everyone gone away from it ……
Is the 6 volt Studebaker generator a positive ground unit......and is it interchangeable with a Contental or Lycoming unit and does it mount on left side or right side of engine. Maybe it's interchangeable with a 1954 Mopar flat head six?????.......just curious......maybe even a Willis 4 cyl.....is the magneto a Cintilla/Vertex and which direction does it rotate?I'll trade you... one magneto, a 6 Volt Studebaker generator, and 20 feet of solid copper ignition wiring.

Can confirm...
Bob, do me a favor and hold this coil wire while I crank the engine...IMO.......Consider doing what I did when I first got the 1970 Plymouth GTX, RS23V0A******........collect all the old MSD stuff and promptly deposit it (the MSD stuff) in nearest round file. The Plymouth has an origional Prestolite Dual point distributor, Essex coil and 0.5 ohm ballast resistor for the past 36 years....and never missed a beat.and never had second thought........I'm sure the Pertronix boys will object......on general principles.......just my opinion......
BOB RENTON
TERRIFICALLY UN-FUNNY.......WHY????.......I'm calibrated to read 20-25 kv directly.....although it might disrupt my pacemaker......as I'm pacemaker dependent.......although my scope can read 50 kv directly........Bob, do me a favor and hold this coil wire while I crank the engine...
I will not touch them.Send it to @HALIFAXHOPS and maybe he can make it work again.
