Hi,I just recently joined this site to try and find a 68 or 69 Satellite for a daily driver. I was wondering, how uncommon was it to find a slant six in one of these cars? I would prefer the 318 personally, but would be happy with a slant if one came up.
I recently saw a listing for a 69 Coronet 2dr hardtop that has a slant in it,but other than that one I haven't seen any other slant six 68-70 b bodies advertised so im assuming that most B body buyers wanted v8's unlike A body buyers.

Probably more common than most people think. It's just most them have been converted to a V8 by now.
I can only think of 3 that I can remember seeing over the years in person. A 70 Charger at the Nats, a 69 Satellite and a 68 Belvedere. However, I have never owned a slant 6 B Body though.

I did own a slant 6 E body once. It was a 71' EV2 orange base Challenger with no options. It wasn't even a 225 slant 6, it was a 198 slant 6. Manual steering, manual 4 wheel drum brake, manual 3 speed trans, 2 speed wipers, manual foot pump washer fluid pump, rubber floor mats (no carpeting), fixed rear quarter windows. They had chrome plugs where the window cranks would have been. I have never seen another one like it.

I drove a 66 Belvedere I /6 automatic for a couple years. It was a 2 door sedan. Indestructible engine!

Seemed fairy common in the plain 66-67s

In my travels, I have seen a 68 Charger, ,72 Satellite custom brougham, ,73 satellite 2dr, and a 73 charger powered by the buzzing half dozen.

Im sure youre right that most of the few that were have had v8s put in them over the years. Its even hard to find 318s now because everyone puts 383's 440's etc in them.
That Challenger sounds interesting. Defiently a rare bird.

I had a 60 Savoy with the slant in it and push button auto. It was indeed indestructible and had more than enough power to keep up with traffic on the freeway. Unfortunately the body was super rusty or id still have it now.
The 318's are very durable too.
