Do I really need to lift the motor in order to replace the oil pan gaskets on a 67 coronet with a 440 and a deep sump moroso pan?

Drop the drag link and it can be removed and replaced. Factory service manual has the procedure.

One can raise the engine (with a hoist) a few inches without the need to disconnect the wiring and possibly the exhaust. Those two inches are often enough to make the project doable.

Another method I've observed includes disconnecting the exhaust, the drive shaft, and removing the transmission cross member, allowing the tail shaft to drop tilting the front of the engine upward.
