Tempting....

I can't remember the last vehicle I had
I didn't have a limited slip diff. at a min.

Come on man! Those $20 beaters we bought as kids were only good as 1 tire fryers.
70 on the speedo was 140 tire speed.
The old bias ply didn't blow up like radials do.
My buddy did one with a studded snow tire that put .22 size holes in the wheel tub.
Too bad it was his mom's car and dad found out.

My grandma had a 68 98 olds with the 425 or 455 rocket.
I borrowed that car a couple times and yep it would fry that right rear.
Sitting here now I can't believe I did that to her car.
Sorry gram,

A '72 Maverick with a 302 will take a perfectly good passenger rear tire right down to the rim!!!!!!

DAMHIK....

Yeah if you are in a burnout contest or something sure, not going to take that trophy.
Otherwise, righteous burnouts are always accepted, by virtue of their very existence.

I grew up in the 1980's. Burnouts were not common, but were always righteous.
The advent of front wheel drive cars with 170HP did not help the situation.
And thus, performing a righteous burnout of any kind was applauded and saluted.

I dated a girl in High School that liked fast cars, racing, V8's(and a lot of not so desireable things, which is why we parted ways) and so brake stands in the 1984 Caprice wagon were worthy of laughs. Inside wheel on her V6 Berreta around a corner were worth some snickers.
The howling basset hound noises the 1979 farm truck made when it spun the 16x7 zig-zag mud tire were especially LOL worthy.
Classmates that could afford an actual car capable of an honest to goodness accelerator only burnout were applauded, envied, and popular.

And thus, all burnouts are righteous. And yes, I use that word for a reason.

righteous /rī′chəs/

adjective

  1. Morally upright; without guilt or sin.

  2. In accordance with virtue or morality: synonym: moral.

Burnouts, put simply, are correct, without error, and contain no attributes that can attribute shame to the performer.

In the late 60s-early 70s, Boston experimented with glued down white wide crosswalk lines. People found out that if they did a burnout on them that the glue would soften and the line would move making squiggly crosswalks.

Looking for my first car, I test drove a very nice 67 Chevelle with a 283 and a powerglide. I drove it a couple miles west of town on a mountain road and stopped on a straight. I floored it and it roasted the **** out of the right tire. After a hundred feet I let off and continued on the road. Looking in the mirror and laughing at the one tire mark and a cloud of smoke blocking the road, a highway patrolman came around the corner. It had to be obvious who did it with thick smoke hanging, so he must've been on his way to a donut

One wheel peels? Chicken leggers? I honestly don’t mind em, because I love burnouts regardless of what they are from… smells like Murica!
 :usflag:
