Most of that will buff out easily on a Sunday afternoon.

At least he didn't type Viola like I have seen before.
Front fenders are 1 year only. Worth a bunch even when they're crusty.
440 engine is worth "something".
Transmission is worth "something".
Differential is worth "something".
Trunk decklid is worth ""something".
Hood is worth ""something".
Not worth the trouble to part it out at $8,000 or $5,000 for that matter.

I'm voting it's a later, non numbers matching engine due to the TQ and wrong valve covers, although I'm not so sure that is all that much of a downer for the 68-70 Charger crowd. Rad is wrong too. It's going to be expensive if you want to do it right.
The $100k for a resto thrown out by Wild R/T isn't unrealistic at all, I think it would cost more than that as well.
Value is dependent on what you can do yourself and how bad you want it. We can't go and order one of these cars anymore.
I know what I would personally pay for it and I know it will sell for more than that. I've seen project cars go for just stupid money the last few years. I've also seen some okay project cars that are reasonably priced (but still would end up upside down) and not sell. No way would I even guess at what it will sell for to be honest.

Does it have D21 on the fender tag which is for the 4 speed manual trans? I ask because I see an automatic trans console shifter laying off to the side.

Manual brakes. Should be 11" drums.
Power steering cooler. That's consistent with the track pak package.
Windows aren't tinted. That's consistent with a 4 speed car (no air conditioning).
Radiator shroud is missing.
Dual chrome racing (teardrop shape) mirrors. Kind of rare.
I like white cars, but resale isn't as good as the cars with famous colors from that era.

All these crazy numbers are mind boggling.
I guess my standards of "restoration" are so far below what some people have, I just don't see the legitimacy for the high quotes I'm seeing.

The op posed the question without any accompanying pictures. I assumed an almost basket case condition and assumed he would hire out everything since he didn't reference his own skill level. That is, a "checkbook restoration" as @1 Wild R/T called it.

Do they know what they have ?
Is it a friend that will give you a good deal to see it go to a good home ?
The car in the pictures looks a lot better than I thought it was going to

Think you need to learn where to look and confirm those facts for yourself
If it is real and numbers match I think you are looking at about $20k to get that car into your garage
If the seller is fishing just trying to find the best offer someone with too much money will come along and offer more than you

Just to follow up on some questions that were posted… yes I confirmed #’s on vin tag, fender tag, radiator core support, trunk rail, trans, door decal and motor. Those who noticed the motor was not matching were correct. The original motor was outside of the car and I confirmed it’s #S.
Bottom line he was asking 32k wich I thought was way too much considering the sheet metal work and overall work needed… I saw a few people say anywhere from 8 to 20k but any other feedback is welcome .

You aren't really all that far apart from the seller. A difference of $12k, which seems a lot on something valued at $26k (halfway between). Once the car is restored and it's worth by that time $120k, That $12k difference isn't such a big deal at all. I said I wasn't going to offer an opinion but I was secretly thinking I personally would pay $20k as well and that's when I didn't think the OEM engine was there. Honestly where else are you going to find a matching #'s project 4 speed, 68-70 R/T Charger?
If you have to hire it out, don't buy it. If you have the ability to do a lot of the work yourself and want a real, 4 speed R/T I think I would make it happen or lament 3 or 4 years from now that you didn't. Of course I would try to negotiate but I think I would make it happen.
It is going to cost a buttload to restore it, no doubt but it sounds like you know that and are realistic. On an aside those dang mirrors are something I noticed right away and that little detail is something that tips it into coolness for me. You just don't see them much. You don't see matching #'s on a 4 speed that much either truth be told. On that note the $20k I was secretly thinking was assuming the origina engine was MIA, so even conservatively adding $5k for the matching engine puts you into acceptable deal territory.
One thing I would plan on though, the way things are going with parts being sketchy on whats available today and tomorrow. If I bought this car, I would immediately inventory what sheetmetal was needed and order it right away from AMD. That will put a hit on the pocketbook after buying a project car, but better to order any metal you can right away just in case availability goes away as it has on some parts lately.
