I have everything I need now to install the automatic trans in my 63 Savoy.
Does anyone know if all the bracketry and such is there from the factory to install a push button shifter?

I'm not sure if there is any brackets, for the push button set up, behind the cover plate. The p-b assembly should have the cage to mount it ? I can look back at some pics from mine, if that helps at all ?

Well Vandan, I sure would appreciate some pics whenever you have the time, thank you. This is my daily driver, even through the winter, so I would like to have that info to be ahead of the game. I'd like to get it done in a day or two, so pics could help me avoid some surprises that I'm sure I'm going to get , thanks.

Stick to auto?? Oh no! :poke: :praying:

Just kidding. But I still like stick shift cars. Sorry I'm of no help....

Here's what I found from my 330. It's before they were cleaned up for install...

There may be studs on the inner surface of the dash, and you'll just need to getthe nuts to hold it in place ? It's been a few years since I was under mine...

I know, me too. I learned to drive in a 62 Ford with three on the tree, that's one of the reasons I fell in love with this car, and bought it. But the trans is in trouble, and parts aren't available for it, plus my wife wants to drive it :), so automatic and P/S it is, lol.

Thank you very much. I have the shifter with the buttons, but not that bracket in your pics that's nutted to it. I'll have to get my old bones under the dash and see if it's there. I appreciate your time man.

The pushbutton assembly should bolt right in. There's no brackets.

Oops! There is a bracket

The Plymouth Savoy has the buttons in a vertical arrangement. I'm not sure how that's configured.

These pics are from my '63 330 Sedan. I think the Plymouths had a different PB layout ?

Hi Wally I must appologize as I've missed your request for assistance right back to spring! I've done a few of these conversions as I own two '63 Canadian built Dodges and one American built Plymouth wagon. The part you are missing is an aluminum casting that the button box bolts to. I've included two illustrations from the '63 canadian parts book which should help you sort things out! IF you still have issues do not hesitate to private message me. I reside in Manitoba.
