Got invited to a BBQ today by a couple Pontiac guys... Most early Trans Ams I've ever seen in one place... Including the ones in the shop there were 32 Trans Ams... Not counting the 11 project cars..

Yes. I am.

I have a buddy with 74 SD Trans Am. Not a 4 gear but still the last of the muscle cars. Buccaneer red with black interior.
Oh ya. It was originally bought by a member of the Guess Who! I think it may have been Randy Bachman. My buddy’s father bought it from him way back when and it has been a regret to this day. Still wants it back.

I am trying to round up a 66 Beaumont SD right now.

Edit: I think was Bachman Turner Overdrive and Fred Turner still wants it back!

I like the Pontiacs. Great looking cars and the Firebirds were great handling too. I’ve owned three. 1972 base model, a 78 Trans Am and 1980 Trans Am. The 1980 model was a sacrilege with a pathetic 301 that made half the power that a Super Duty car did 7 years prior.

Another Bachman-Turner Overdrive member who liked Firebirds was Blair Thornton, who had one of the rare (only eight made) 1969 Trans-Am convertibles.

Bought this in July of this year from original owner and pulled this 79 from a garage where I learned it had been buried for 25 plus years, it’s now road worthy, will continue to work on it this winter.
Plan to leave as is with its bumps and bruises

While not a firebird fan or bandit fan, just felt they are overdone.I really like the mid 60s Tin Indians. Their stack on headlamps cars were attractive and I feel they were better built then a Chevrolet. Some the 50s Pontiacs really look good.

I went through the Pontiac phase in the 70s with a stock 70 GTO and a built up 75 TA, both 4-speeds.

Dad bought a Trans Am new in 1979.
301, automatic car. I was about 5 years old. That’s dad on the right.

Before that dad had a ‘67 Catalina with a 389. I was about 3 or 4 years old in this picture.

And my DD is an ‘09 G6. Doing a little fender bender repair after a deer ran into the side of it.

My parents and brothers owned multiple Pontiacs in my youth. I find myself drawn to the '70-'72 T/A models from time-to-time, as well as the Formula 400 with the twin scoops up front on the hood.

I like Pontiacs, especially the Firebirds.

A good friend of mines dad had a 1971 Firebird with the h.o. 455, white with light blue firebird on the hood. It was apart being worked on in their garage when he passed away. The older brother ended up selling it for a song. Regret for all the brothers to this day. It was an amazing car.

I have a 78 Y84 trans am, had it around 35 years now. I have another 78 trans am, just a regular one that needs some work.

My first brand new car was a '74 Trans Am with the 455. We ordered it in 1973 before the dealership brochures came out and were surprised when we saw the new front end styling.
Beautifull car and a great interior with the engine turned dash.
