Higher quality input shaft seal A833

Make sure the breather isn't plugged with dirt. If plugged, pressure will build up inside the trans.

Playing around with the old seal after removal, it seems to be a very snug fit on the shaft - not seemingly worn oversize at all. Considering the amount of oil that was on the outside of the bearing retainer I’m now wondering if the issue all along was no sealer on the bearing retainer bolts and oil wicked out them.

I doubt that the shaft is supposed to be 1.057. Probably got polished down by someone already.
I have used a Ready Sleeve on these before, but it’s been years ago. The standard size one might fit, but with sealer on it. Or green lock-tite. I would try looking in the seal company catalogs.
Best fix may be a new shaft from brewers.

I’ve looked through a couple catalogs without success. A sleeve that fits a 18 spline is readily available but no one lists one for a 23 spline which added to the lack of them in catalogs makes me believe there isn’t one.

Not that I take this AI response for 100% accuracy but it’s all I could find.

I believe the sleeve kit you are looking for is the National 99106. I have used these a few times with success. Still utilizes the 9376 or 10515 seal. The install tool that comes with the kit is useless so just be creative.

I don’t know - it’s .005” larger than mine measures an .006” larger than what I’ve found for a spec on the 23 spline input. How do you keep it in place - Loctite? Or is the 1.061” dimension an outside dimension after install? Maybe I’m misunderstanding the spec info.
