830-835 for years. Doesn't vary much. I get dinged because I don't use enough of my "revolving credit." IE I pay off my **** every month and they don't make a dime of interest on me. :jackoff:

Last check was 841 and don't think it's been higher than that....and I pay off my cards every month too. Lots of years ago when I was having to pay my youngest kid's school bill, I did carry some credit card balances but hated doing that and never have liked any debt including a mortgage one. Also paid off loans on cars pretty fast.

Like Kiwi I use my credit cards for everything and pay my credit cards off every month. I do this for the points. The last two months I’ve been restoring my RR and doing some home improvements. I purchased about $40,000 worth of stuff on credit cards. Since that time my score has gone from 835 to 697. I really don’t care as I’m not planning on taking out any loans, but I find it funny that I could go finance a $60k car and it has minimal impact on my credit score, but carrying large credit card balances wreck your score. I haven’t even carried any balances on the credit cards or paid any interest charges. All of it will be paid next month. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to go back up. I also like to use those 0% for x amount of months plans on large purchases so my money continues to make interest before I pay it off. And one more tip. If you are going to make a really large purchase, shop around for a new credit card. Most have no interest for up to 2 years on promotional balances. Keep your money in your investments making interest for 2 years and then pay them off. If you have good credit and aren’t overloaded with debt it’s easy to make the banks make you money.

Me too, but I only ever use one or two. When I used to travel for work, I made a second wallet that I kept in my backpack in case the wallet I carried on my person got lost or stolen, I had my back up to get home. I have two drivers licenses. One for each wallet. Just go online to DMV and get a replacement because yours is worn out or broken. They will send you another duplicate license. Split up your credit cards between wallets. Every so often I get notices from credit card banks that if I don’t use my card they are going to shut it off, so I make a small purchase. You can never have too many credit cards. It’s a good back up when **** hits the fan and the stock market crashes. You have an instant line of credit and don’t plan on paying it off.

Been over 800 for past 2 decades. Happened to check today had an 847. Last year bought the wife a car and found out car loans are using a 900 pt scale. Had an 875 at that time. But as stated I can order 15-20k on material and take a 30 pt hit.

P.s. I had forgotten they use it on auto insurance too. Step daughter has made a few bad decisions so her 690ish costs her on their cars.

I don’t even know how to check my score.
If you have online accounts with your credit cards, most have free credit report access. Just log into your account and check your score. Quicken financial software also has it. You can also go to any of the 3 credit reporting agencies online and sign up to check it for free. Equifax/Transunion/Experian

I pay my cards all on the due date of the first card. The only reason I use credit cards is cash back. Right now I have about 2k on the 2 cards that get used. I cash them in twice a year. Usually before carlisle or another big show

How good your score is doesn't seem to matter much but how bad your score is does matter.

A good score gets you lower interest rates on finance. That why people with bad credit can still finance a car. They just pay 20% or more interest. But they don’t care, as long as they can afford the monthly payments.

I have never checked my score either. Don't know how, don't care. I HATE using a credit card, and pay it off when I do use it within a couple days, at the atm.
I could give a flying duck (misspelling) about a few bucks cash back or points.
I had a car loan once, about 35 years ago.

This. The car I bought my wife last has 0.9 financing due to my score.
