I am installing a console in my 4 speed 67 coronet and have purchased a light wiring harness. I am trying to figure out where that harness plugs in under the dash. My wiring diagram says it plugs into the instrument panel but I don't see where. I have replaced the dash harness with one from H&H if that helps.

Kick panel area plug in. It is another harness run's from there under the sill, then under the seat tracks to the center console. There are depressions in the floor pan for the wiring to run.

Post a pic of your wiring diagram. Do you have a 3 way plug that is orange around the ashtray?
My car is at my shop. Will check for those wires tomorrow. My harness is from M&H not H&H

The only plug in I have behind the kick panel is the one for my rear defrost and for my tail/brake /backup lights and fuel gauge

So,are you saying I have to add that harness under my dash?

That looks like the intermediate harness that sits between the little console harness and the kick panel. You do need that if you don't already have it. The yellow wire on that intermediate harness connects to the driver side door jamb switch wiring. It should be on your m&h harness. That leaves the pink wire. I'm not sure if all dash harnesses have that pink connector. I have a 67 column auto dash harness but i'm not sure i've seen that pink connector on it.

This is the pic I was sent about the harness

That is an auto console harness. You can probably still make it work but you only need to be concerned about the yellow and pink wires for the courtesy lights. If you take a look at the three pages on megaparts in the link below you will find the two correct harnesses for 4 speeds. One for the console lights and one between the lights and the kick panel. The pnora mentioned is one of them.

These should be the two you need for a 4 speed.

Pull a pink wire from the dome lamps fuse in the fuse box, and tie the yellow in where you can find a junction in the yellow circuit.

I would just snip off the extra wires from that auto harness you're getting, splice yellows together and the pinks together. Then get a long yellow wire and splice it into the driver side door jam switch (yellow) wiring. Get a long pink wire and do what Remcharger says. Pink is hot and yellow is ground. When the door opens, the circuit completes and the console lights come on. No one will see it an saves nearly $200 bucks compared to if you were to buy the "correct" console harnesses.

Could it be like the trunk light harness? Unplug the harness and the one that you want to plug in has a dual plug and play? No cutting, the wire holders tell you where they have to go. Some of the other wiring under the dash is similar, your just getting in line.

My thoughts were ,that there should be a factory location in the dash wiring for the console lights. Apparently not,so I figured I would jumper into the a pillar connection for the courtesy lights and connect my console there.

The wires are in the dash harness. Its plug and play with the right console harnesses. Also the lights and harness you have are for an automatic car so the plug is different vs a 4 speed car.

Can you tell me where those console wires would plug in under the dash? I can't seem to find an empty plugin anywhere under there. Is there, perhaps,a different dash harness for use with a console?

Same harness. Yellow plugs in along the left kick panel at the doors dome switch. Pink is a single pink wire in the main harness. It will be somewhere below the cluster area. Just look harder you will find it they all have it.
