I bought an old corvette and its 1 of 16

What would be definitely less "safe" is taking a nascar hemi superbird on the autobahn and attempting a 200mph run.

I think this would top the guy going 260mph in his bugatti and they were even talking about suspending his license... (For reckless driving)

They were designed to go fast though.....and a NASCAR prepped bird is safer than a street car bird.

Also thanks for all the positive comments on the color.
I also think that it's probably the best one for this car even if it wasn't rare.
And aesthetics aside we all know that green cars are better for the environment right? :D

Those kinds of speeds are best left to winged aircraft.
:D
I agree!

Nice car, well done.
Low miles are great but with that little miles in 36 years I'd be changing every fluid, filter, drive belt, hose etc.
Be prepared for a few potential leaks as well once you start driving it, from gaskets that have hardened over time.
Tires too, check the date code.

No autobahn runs basically, until you're sure it's all safe.

I wasn't a fan of that teal color when they came out but now they are 90's cool. I wonder if this one will ever be loved? We finally got the '66 Corvette coupe running well. I've been ignoring the '69 Corvette.

From the latest BaT auction ad:

Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 tires measuring 275/40 up front and 315/35 at the rear.

These are very good tires. You will like them.

I saw the title and thought must be a crossfire car, can’t be more than 16 of those left that run!

I actually think the crossfire setup was kind of neat

Yes that sounds like a good idea and of course i will be very gentle on the car during the first thousand miles or so.

I think the crossfire cars are probably a great choice if you want to do a carburetor conversion.
I assume that would be a lot easier on those cars than the later ones which have the TPI Fuel Injection (L98) Engine.

I like any C4 corvette and i think a regular car, ideally with the Z51 Handling Package is a really good value.
I mean what other classic sports car can you buy that delivers this kind of performance at this price point? You can buy that car for the price of a replacement clutch for a Lamborghini Countach.

Most C4 Corvettes are bargains right now.

On paper i would say there is no better deal to be had in the classic car market right now.
I hope there is no catch that i'm soon to find out...

That's a sensible answer but I'm not a sensible person, also I live in a state that isn't sensible so its not a legal swap here.
I really like C4s and there was a period where a ZR1 was my dream car. If I somehow ended up with a crossfire C4 I would want to try a recipe I once saw to make them fairly quick without a lot of mods.
