440 source says theirs work with factory cast heads as well.

I just looked on their website. The pan they show doesn't isolate the lifter valley from the ports and doesn't appear to be compatable with heat crossovers. Doesn't appear to have any advantage over a stock pan. If you're not going to isolate the port runners from oil contamination then i have to wonder what's the point in jumping thru this hoop.

Not gonna work with iron heads, bottom not flat. The first aluminum valley pan I saw was Indy’s. It is meant to fit UNDER a raised port head that protrudes further inboard, sealing well. If using with standard port heads, these valley pans will butt into the bottom of the head, not an ideal sealing situation.

I used an Indy valley cover on stage 6 heads. The cover was a little narrow for a good fit but it did seal up nice and work. But, it cannot be used with iron heads without modifications and won't work with heat crossovers.

Also
if you're using a dual plane intake (like Performer RPM)
stock type iron or most aftermarket aluminum
the flat valley pans usually will not clear the bottom of the dual plane manifolds
aluminum head or not, there's a big hump in the way

sells a nice flat pan 'with a recess in it' to clear those intakes

or steel version of the valley plates with aftermarket heads,
with the recess for dual plane or single plane too
