1968 Plymouth GTX

Had my gas tank pressure checked by a local shop. They told me it is fine.

Decided to clean the rust off the tank and started using sanding discs and wire.
It was taking forever and not really giving me the results I wanted.

So I got the media blaster out and tried the top side of the tank.

Much quicker and better results.
Going to try spraying it with DTM clear coat and see how it turns out. Saw a post from another guy who used it and was quite impressed.
At the price of a new tank that original one would have to be pretty exceptional to re-use it....

Well, our home Furnace/AC unit went bad after 26 years and I had to spend $6,000.00 on a new one. Needless to say money is very tight right now.
The bummer is they delivered the $1,700.00 unit that goes in the house and the thing was damaged during shipping. Took some pictures and filed a complaint with the company and waiting now for them to get back to me.

Quick question, are the turn signal flasher and the emergency flasher units the same?
Did a search but could not find what I was looking for.

The ones that came with the car are identical but I don't think they are original. Wagner 552 12V and one of them is not working right.

Both use the same 2 prong flasher

Got the new turn signal switch, the new flasher and the dimmer switch Devin rebuilt installed today. Everything seems to be working fine now!
New seat covers arrived but still waiting on the door and rear quarter panels. This list of things needed seems to never end.

Installed kick panels, trimmed the carpet and installed the sill plates:

Decided to dismantle one of the bucket seats to prepare for new seat covers.
Well that turned out to be another list of things to buy and do.

Seat foam is turning to dust:

The rubber washers that protect the carpet fell apart, lots of rust and dirt.

I went the extra mile when I rebuilt my buckets. Even wove wire bolsters into new burlap as the foam base support - just like factory.

You are doing great work on this build!!!

Thanks. I do have to take the cover off the bench seat before I start ordering foams and burlap kit.
Do you have source for those rubber washers that sit on the carpet?

My buckets had wooden (plywood) discs on the hold down bolts and they were painted black. I think that I just made new ones and sprayed them black.

I will look closer at them to see what they are made of.

If that was a 6 pak originally, it would be pretty rare. Plymouth didn't release the 440 six barrel until February 1969 and only on the road runner. Looks like a great car though.
vin code verified, owned since 1983, not a 4 spd, auto
