70 is my favorite yr cause i had an r/t w/440-4speed

I voted for 68-70 but for me the 66-67 models are close in the race. The 68-70s were one of the all time favorites intermediate sized cars with the buying public as evidenced by their new car sales numbers. They have also remained as popular with the collector car crowd.

The 66-67 cars get little love and like ALL fastback model cars when new never really caught on. They continue to be less loved with the collector car crownd with the exception of the fastback Mustangs.

To ME THE 66-67 Chargers where the cream of the B bodies in those years with their hidden head lights, full tail lights, luminescent dash, full consoles, 4 bucket seats, large rear wheel wells, and a bonus utilitarian aspect with te fold down seats and trunk panel that allows for material hauling as well as sleeping area if you wanted to camp with it. I believe they are truely overlooked cars.

To me, the new 4 door Chargers should not even be compared to the older 2 doors regardless of power etc. 4 door cars and 2 doors simply are not in the same class.

1970 charger r/t has to be the best had it all no more vacuum headlight motors high impact colors great lines whats not to like!!!

Believe it or not 1973 was the high sales year of Chargers.

66 was very good, 67 was awful, 68 was GREAT, but dropped off every year until 73, then WHAM record for chargers.

I guess 73 was just a good year for Chrysler in general. How many 73 Dusters, RoadRunners, Swingers, Challengers, etc do you commonly see?

I see a lot more than other years.

If I can only pick one year. . . 1969. I like the grill better but I am torn on the taillights between a 68.

Well, my loyalty lies with my 74, but I grew up with the "Dukes of Hazzard" so I have to admit that a 69 with Catherine Bach on top ....wait Maybe I should reword this...

(Almost, Marlins same close, but don't have the power)
lol. The funny thing is the Marlin came out before the Charger. It always looked to me like the Charger stole many styling ideas from the Marlin. Not only the roof line, but the trunk medallion. Though I do like the longer style on the Charger. I'm not sure if your familar with the 68-69 Fairlanes with the fastback(which I LOVE by the way). They used four, independent circle gauges like the first gen Chargers... It's like they all copied a bit.

68' or 69' with the 68' being my top pick because of the tailight arrangement.

Favorite charger

68 for me... although it's a very tough decision. It's like choosing between Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel.

Although I do think it's blasphemy to choose any of the 06+ chargers, I do still like them. Has anyone seen the new 2011 model? It actually looks a lot more like the older ones. However, it still has 4 doors :-/

I'm slowly bringing the '83 Shelby I bought new back onto the road. I'm also at the point of thinking about having the '71 painted again.

1971. Especially the Super Bee I totally fell in love with.
Although I kow that most people like the 2nd-Gen.-Chargers (I'd prefer the 69 because of the combination of grille and tail lights) I'm a big fan of the 3rd-Gen.-Chargers because of their amazing fuselage style. From my point of view they look much more aerodynamic and faster than the other generations. Especially the C-Pillar of the 2nd-Gen. is something that doesn't harmonize, I think. But as far as I know there is one Charger-Model (don't know exactely what year => maybe 69?) where backwindow and C-Pillar have the same angle. Is that right?

Lotta love for the 1970 model;my favorite as well. The '71 is another one that "grows" on you;great styling. If I wanted to do a cross-country trip, this might very well be my car of choice(unless a new Challenger fell onto my driveway);gimme an R/T 440-4bbl,auto,,air,cruise,no sunroof(!) and Lucy Pinder in the passenger seat. Let's roll...

The 1968 Charger is the one I like the best. I like the open front grill work and the round taillights.

The 68 is my favorite and I love the round taillights. The third generation (71-74) Chargers are starting to really grow on me as new cars become more unidentifiable.

71-74 I am hooked. Loved the 73 Rallye I had in the early 90's and recently a 71 Bee and my current 72 Rallye. Damn good looking and driving cars!
