Hey neighbor! I'm over in the Western Branch area of Chesapeake. You may have seen my Sport Satellite around town before. City of Portsmouth is shutting down High Street in front of the Commodore for a Cruise In on June 11th! Maybe I'll see you there.
I ran 295/50/15 on 15x10 wheels with 5.5" backspacing on my '69 Sport Satellite for several years. It was very tight but would only occasionally rub just barely at the top of the wheel well where it comes in some.
I used Indian Head Gasket Shellac on the seals for my tanks, inc. tank. I saw they recommended that somewhere in all the reading up on it I did before the install. I was concerned it would leak, read some reviews complaining about it, but it hasn't in 3 years.
I'm running the NGK xr5 plugs, I think they're #3332.
Coil location could definitely be an issue too, like 69GTX mentioned. I've always had my coil over on the passenger side firewall, so nowhere close to the ECU on the sniper or the distributor wiring.
I wish I could offer more help. I've been running the Holley Sniper EFI with Hyperspark distributor controlling timing for several years now with 0 issues. Fired right up the first time after install. I had to tweak timing just a hair from where I had it after using their plastic cap thing to...
I got 17.8 mpg with the 440 in my Sport Satellite on a 250 mile trip to Roanoke last month. Running a Holley Sniper with Hyperspark distributor for timing control, Tremec TKO-600 with .64 overdrive, and 3.54 gears in the dana out back. I was expecting to get maybe 15 max and was pretty shocked...
Silver Sport posted on their social media yesterday that the Mopar B Body TKX was now available. Showed a picture with the shifter attached. Not sure what that means for you guys that have one on order, but I'd expect they'll be shipping soon. I didn't pay that much attention since I've...
I got 18.2 MPG on my 250 mile trip to Roanoke a couple of weeks ago. That's a 440 with a 5 speed Tremec (.64 OD), 3.54 gears, and Holley Sniper FI. So I guess I'm cheating a little bit. I felt like that was pretty good though. Jetting around town to cruise ins and such I usually get around...
I'm planning to make the 4 hour drive up on Friday. I have family in Roanoke so it gives me somewhere to stay. Have to park the Plymouth outside in the backyard but it looks like the weather is going to be fantastic, so that shouldn't be a big issue.
They do have an add on module that reads sniper data, it only displays on the screen in the cluster though and won't send a signal to the temp gauge. At least that's the way it was when I installed mine a year ago, they may have upgraded that feature since then.
I'm fairly certain that it has 1/8" NPT threads, so it will probably fit in the stock sensor location. The water pump housing on my 440 has 2 extra outlets at the top in addition to the outlets for the stock sensor and the heater hoses, so I just used those with an adapter bushing as they were...
I'm running separate sensors for my Sniper and my Dakota Digital gauges. Pretty sure the DD sensor is only available from them. I know this because I overtightened and snapped off the original that came with the gauge cluster. They were nice enough to send me the replacement free of charge...
