For best function, I would just use a RivNut or sometimes called a Nutzert.
I use them everywhere, very handy to have in the shop and it (sort of) looks like the factory put it there.
You can find them or similar at places like Lowes, Harbor Freight, etc.

I weighed the K frame in my 65 Belvedere, and it came in at 39 lbs after pressure washing. I took 4 pounds of dirt and debris from inside of it. After adding holes and a shave, it comes in at 34 lbs. These are weights for the K frame only, all other pieces removed.
Wow, that is so subtle and sneakily done. I never noticed the axle reposition. Was the fender opening moved? Nothing looks even remotely altered. Beautifully done (of course).
Very cool having pics of the good ol' days.
Quick question, why was "the Grump Hump" scoop on backwards in a couple of photos?
Love the injectors, I actually have one of those (for a Hemi) as a 'conversation piece' because I could never afford the rest of the Hemi.
It's part of the driving test for a Pennsylvania Drivers License. (But not back when I got mine - horse and buggy weren't that maneuverable in tight spaces.)
I like to mount the trans cooler in front of the radiator but to the side away from the top radiator hose inlet. The inlet side is generally the hottest point so I like to give it the clearest air path. That way, if the trans cooler disrupts the air flow, it will be in front of the 'cooler' side.
There is an extension available for the 'reversed post' starters. It is similar to the one available for the factory mini starter. I sell these as well as the ones for the factory starters.
Might save you some time.
Jus sayin..
