Quick question. So I'm planning on replacing the top on my '69 Sport Satellite. The frame needs a little TLC before I install the new top. I'm trying to find out what sheen the black paint should be. Can't tell if it was originally gloss black or semi gloss black. Thanks in advance!
Quick question for you all. I'm planning on replacing the old rusty floor pan in my Sport Satellite convertible with a brand new one. Since the car is a convertible, do I need to add any extra bracing to keep the body from flexing when the old floor is removed? Thanks!
Hello! I'm in the process of restoring my fathers 1969 Sport Satellite convertible and had a question about one of the interior colors. The color in question is for the the steering wheel housing and also for the steering wheel itself. I'm pretty sure that the color of the interior is called...
Hey folks, quick question for you. So I am in the process of stripping down the frame while I'm restoring my engine compartment. Can anyone tell me how to get the inner fender splash shields off? Do I just need to drill out the center of those little fasteners, or should they just pop out? Thanks!
Hey folks, I'm working on restoring some old valve covers for my motor. Do any of you all have tips for how to go about recreating the rubberized coating found on the ends up the spark plug wire guides?
Hello, I am in the process of rebuilding my leaf springs. So, I figured while I'm at it, I'll go ahead and clean up the leaf spring mounting bracket that the rear shock attaches to. So, I discovered that the bolt that the rear shock attaches to is stripped. I can't tell if the bolt is removable...
Hey PurpleBeeper, you are correct. Turns out I was calling the exhaust manifolds "headers". The ones on the car are indeed the original factory manifolds complete with the heat riser valve! I need to replace both of those as they are severely rusted. I also need to replace the pipes running from...
This is all good news. My father didn't drive the car hard. Perhaps I should start by sending my carburetor off to be rebuilt and replacing the rusted leaking exhaust headers. Maybe doing that would be enough for the time being. At least then I could drive it to the body shop to have the floor...
Hey PurpleBeeper, yes this is indeed the original motor. My father was the original owner, I still have all the paper work from when he bought it. So, I think your advice of going ahead with the rebuild is a fine idea!
