Radiator fan upgrade when adding A/C

I have some unknown 3-row 22" radiator in my 67 Charger. When I did the upgrade to AC cooling setup I bought cheap GM-style fan clutch that should fit but it had no clearance between clutch and radiator. Would not fit. People say the clearance should be over minimum of 1/2" . Reproduction Mopar...

Maybe there is high-flow thermostat for $10 for big blocks

Over winter I rebuilt cooling system on my 383. I bought new motorad 206-180 thermostat but to be honest it looks like chinese rubish of the worst caliber and I already had 160F version in the car. Alternative would be Mr. Gasket High-Perf Thermostats 4367 but it has terrible reviews. Old US or...

How to restore front grill on 66-67 Charger?

Does anyone know how were the headlight bezels for 1st gen Charger made in factory and what paint was used for the black background? To me it looks like they used cast aluminum, painted front of the cover mat black and then polished the paint off the ribs. But I could be wrong ... and screw up...

    How stiff rear leaf springs

I was quite lucky and previous owner used adjustable red KONI shocks on all 4 corners. Not much red left on them after use in Canadian winter but they work fine. I can even get new ones locally because KONI is Dutch company.

    How stiff rear leaf springs

Shipping is expensive as f.... for heavy and long parts. Springs are unfortunately both :). I am investigating re-arching locally but I don't expect much. Almost everything under 6000 lbs on our roads rides on coil springs so finding someone that can do quality work for reasonable money is not...

    How stiff rear leaf springs

Hi, what rear springs would you put on 67 Charger with 383 and suregrip? I am pretty much settled on Eaton Detroit Springs but not sure about wheel rate of the springs. Previous owner switched front torsion bars from factory 0.88" (100 lb/in wheel rate) to 0.96" (~150 lb/in WR) and left the...

    Federal/TRW Power Steering Pump

I would get sheet of Nitrile rubber(Buna-N) or Viton and cut the sealing ring from it. As a precaution submerge small piece of it in ATF overnight. It will probably swell a little but it should not become too soft or harden. If I remember correctly you don't want to use natural rubber for...

Factory disks brakes on 67 Charger

I maybe found one forgotten factory booster refurbished by Cardone on sale. They don't even list it on Cardone website anymore but it should be the older factory type used until 69 or 70. To be honest I give it 1 in 3 change to be correct and working part ... one has to be optimist :D.

Factory disks brakes on 67 Charger

Good to know that it is behaving as it should for manual brakes, thx. I have it "manualized" by the dead booster :D but stepping hard on the pedal still locks up all four corners as it should. I did some more investigation and it looks like that factory setup for 67 always has assisted brakes...

Factory disks brakes on 67 Charger

I have 67 Charger with with factory front disk D9 option but no H1 option for assisted brakes. Is it possible that the brakes were assisted from factory if there is no H1 on the fender tag? You can see what I have in the car in the picture. It looks like leaking cardone master attached to...

    Cooling for 67 Charger 383

I sure see fresh looking distributor with vacuum advance but I still need to measure timing.

    Cooling for 67 Charger 383

Thanks for the tips. That looks like I should be able to figure out something that works well with 22" rad and avoid cutting the support. Great news. About the electric fans. I have the car as historic vehicle because it does not have homologation here (different lights, bumpers ... ) and as...

    Cooling for 67 Charger 383

Hi, I am Mopar newbie with service manual in hand and have 67 Charger with 383 4B/HP, auto trans and no AC. :) Current cooling setup that overheats (230F!) in traffic is 22" Champion radiator, 7 blade fan, no shroud, factory under-driven water pump pulley and no fan clutch. In the trunk I have...
