I have seen similar booster cutout on AFB and it was a small block V8 also; and it was factory. I have also seen boosters where a thin metal is inserted into the venturi area slightly as an internal distribution tab, vice external.
It all has to do with fuel distribution so that all 8...
Normally there is an Idle jet difference. Also, the SVM does not give you the meter block data; and can have errors. A holley book would tell you what is different and that can lead to differences in air bleed size. Carb calibration is more than just fuel jet size. Carter typically had an...
The bolt going into starter is 7/16 fine thread. Into bell is 7/16" course. The difference is subtle and hard to tell by sight. Need to take measurements side by side to tell difference, other than casting #.
The Case should have more #s. 1889100 or 1889200. My understanding is the rebuilder would disassemble for remanufacture like alternators, so they did not care about parts number and matching parts. Probably some slant 6 with a hemi barrel out there. So they could have installed correct field...
Carter manual calls for 1700 RPM on Fast Idle setting hot motor. The fast idle setting requires the choke valve to be open 1/16". The vacuum pull off open 7/64". I would go to service manual and the carb section tells you how and what to set too.
Thank you. Yes 3924 is the IPM part. I have one of those starter noses too. By chance do you think you have original bolts for the starter and what length and Head markings do they have?
Also, despite barrel # which is part number for starter when it was OEM, if the rebuilder used the...
I am pretty sure I have a 66 nose. I have several 66-69 hemi starters. The whole issue is that the ring gear on the 66 only was on the clutch side of the flywheel flange. So the starter gear needs to go deeper in. The 66 nose is 3/16" longer. In 67 they changed the flywheel so the gear rest...
Some of this applies to Prestolite Distributor Vacuum cannister also. Also, on Floyd's it looks like it was straight tube and manually bent down. Has kink, vice smooth radius??
