Couple of vids of my '65 A990 "tribute"

I have a bad cam lobe and during this drive it started ticking so it's parked and the engine is coming out. Here's a shot of the engine. The "Hemi" letters on the hood are coming off. And here it is with the rear steelies. I've sent them off to be straightened. They are 4" offset and...

    Diaper

I'd like to know what you end up doing. Around here diapers are required for track rental days, regardless of the ET.

    Wow! Summit is fast

I'm amazed at Summit's warehouse and logistics system -- and modern logistics in general. I ordered wheels three different times from Summit in the evening after work. In all three instances they were delivered the next business day and for "free" shipping. Their system processed my order...

Come on, race season is coming up. Are you ready? Excited? Broken? No time? No desire? No money?

Had my Camaro out last weekend for the first time in 7 years. Got a new trailer and just need to get the new drag radials mounted on the old hemi and it's ready to go out and break something else. You guys are still young.

When the seller won't get you the block casting numbers.....

Here's the boring story. I found a nice looking '62 406 G code Galaxie for sale at one of the consignment places for a realistic price. The vin and heads check out (salesman got me those) but he won't get me the block numbers. I tried three times very nicely and he told me he was too busy and...

My cam shopping story and your thoughts on my cam selection

I am thinking the same on the cam size now that I've slept on it. It does seem a little small. But thanks for the lifter advise. I'll do some reading on it.

My cam shopping story and your thoughts on my cam selection

I previously posted about my <3,000 mile 477 hemi with a worn hyd flat tappet cam lobe. I was thinking of converting to a hyd roller but have decided to go with a good ole solid flat tappet cam. I want to source the cam, lifters and spring kit from the same supplier. I tried Howards and Crower...

Unresponsive steering and howling = pucker

I replaced the tie rod ends on my 65 coronet and drove it 35 miles on the freeway after the alignment and it did fine. The steering was a little sloppy but no big problems. I drove it again that night and pucker up it started howling from the front driver's side while pulling to the passenger...
