Call Stroud or Simpson/Impact or any other company, that makes them
have them cut & modified one of there's, or ask
maybe 'a slot' so you don't have to drop the link to access the pan
if you maybe know someone with a HD machine
to sow the edges, of where it needs to clearanced,
using the proper colored thread like they use (they aren't fire rated anyway)
it may fly past the Tech guys
as long as it looks like it should, be that way
I'm pretty sure when you cut on them
they are no-longer SFI rated, SFI 7.2
& it will need recert regularly, in any case
not sure the speed or ET that make you have to have one
I'd guess 8.99 ET &/or 149 mph or faster now,
same as a Chute
usually you need a NHRA (or IHRA) 'comp license' to go either now too
the 8.99 & faster anyway
a mandatory chute after 149mph, no matter the class or ET
I didn't see any listed for the center link going thru
I didn't dig too deep either
I had Strouds on all my Altereds & all the Outlaw Pro-stock/ or T/S cars
just basic rectangle shape, boxed, with sides, with replaceable absorbent pads
like 4 straps on each side with slotted holed mounts, off the header bolts, both sides
it wasn't a real tight fit either, lots of room to modify if need be
they were a PITA to work around, if not messing with the underside much no big deal
otherwise, not fun
all my motors had the steering considerably ahead of the engine,
(engine set back &) usually a Rack & Pinion 'front steer', (Like GM or Ford)
not rear steer like most OE style Mopar's
Fronts steer;
where the lower steering arm was way ahead of the spindle centerline
Rear steer;
not behind it, rear steer, lower ball joint arm, is behind the spindle centerline
like Mopar's are (steering box is also counter rotation too)
