    8 3/4 offset shackles for 72 satellite

Darter6, Thanks, but I don't think those will work. Building custom hangers is what I'm going to have to do.

    8 3/4 offset shackles for 72 satellite

Darter6, Do you know what the offset is on those hangers? It doesn't look like they are offset enough to cover the approximate 1.8" the leaf needs to move to make the axle work.

    8 3/4 offset shackles for 72 satellite

So after looking at the mount location for the rear springs I'm going to make an offset hanger for the front and then move cut out the spot welds for the rear shackle location and relocate the shackle mount inward. Based off my preliminary assessment moving the rear mount shouldn't be to...

    The Build: 1972 Satellite

Been a couple months since I last updated this thread. Got the satellite back from sandblasting and finally started making some progress. Replaced the lower core support and started my driver side quarter panel patch, hopefully, be finishing the patch tomorrow and starting on replacing the...

    8 3/4 offset shackles for 72 satellite

I am looking at swapping a 68 8 3/4 rear end to into my 72 satellite to replace the 8 1/4 but don't want to do a spring relocation on the car. Dr. Diff sells an offset kit that puts the springs at 44 13/16". Would I need to move the spring perches outward 3/8" to make this work or is that...

    WTB 71-74 8 3/4 differential

Looking for a 71-74 8 3/4 rear end. Don't care what gears are in it, just need the correct rear end. Should be 63" drum to drum and 47.3" spring perch center to spring perch center and 57 7/8" total housing with width. Willing to pay shipping, but prefer to find one I can pick up. I live in...

    The Build: 1972 Satellite

Ordered a complete QA1 front suspension Wednesday night and just got it delivered by UPS. Now the only piece I need is new torsion bars, I've been leaning toward the hotchkis 1.1" bar, but am also considering the firm feel bars. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?

    The Build: 1972 Satellite

So this week has been a busy week of working on the car. Got the car completely stripped and took it to the blasters today. Here's a picture I took on Wednesday and some from this morning loaded on the trailer. Finally here's one of it sitting in front of the blasters.

    Stripped Body Weight

Thank you all for the replies. I talked with the media blaster today and was told that they have their own dollies so it didn't matter how I brought it. MoparLeo, I did check into mobile blasters, but none guarantee against warping panels, while the place I am taking it to does, which is a...

    Stripped Body Weight

Good Evening, I am trying to figure out how to get my 1972 Plymouth satellite body, completely stripped to the blasters (as soon as I have it completely stripped). My original plan was to either buy an auto twirler body cart or make my own and put the car on a trailer strapped down really good...

    The Build: 1972 Satellite

Started working on taking the front end apart. Only issue that I found was a damaged radiator core support, which will now need to be replaced. Has anyone done this? Is it something that I can do at home by myself or will I need to have someone with alignment equipment do this to ensure it is...

    Roof pitting

So, I've been trying to determine the best way to fix the pitting on the roof of my 72 satellite. Since they don't make replacement panels I'm debating whether to cut out and graft in new new metal or wondering if the work to do that isn't worth the effort. There is only a small pinhole near the...

    The Build: 1972 Satellite

So, I got the dash out last week and got everything off the dash as the week went on. Today, I decided to clean up the AC controls. As you can see there are quite a number of pieces to this control. Only thing that didn't turn out as satisfactory as I had hoped was the clear plastic, so tomorrow...
