I just rebuilt/cleaned my carb and when going back on the vacuum secondary sits on the intake. Did I reinstall the secondary wrong or is this just a carb spacer situation now? This carb has never been ran with this engine so no prior reference point.

I thought I read that as well when I was putting it together. For whatever reason it sat lower once flipped.

Would the converter slide in all the way if the spline count was off? Ok, I thought I may need to open it back up as well. It is weird, the converter will not spin at all, not even a slow labored turn. Just full stop.

Thoughts on why my torque converter will not spin on freshly rebuilt 727? I have it fully engaged into the pump and then it refuses to turn. I rebuilt the 727 so did I set something up wrong? The center shaft spins and rotates the tail shaft but once engaged with the pump it will not rotate.

Ok that is what I was curious about the most. I didn’t know if they were “reversible” so to speak. I’ll likely just throw a nut on a 3” bolt if I don’t pull them apart and add the coil the right way. Appreciate the quick reply’s guys.

I can pull it apart and add the heli coil. I just didn’t know if it was possible to install the helicoil from the trans side without pulling it apart. Then the mounting bolt would basically go into the back of the coil if that makes sense.

That was my second move but I didn’t know if it would cause any issue with the case and crack it or something. It is flat enough for a washer to sit flat.

I have a thread stripped on my 727 where it mounts to the 440 on the lower starter side. Should be a 7/16”-14 be the threads are toast in the transmission case. This hole being all the way through the transmission case can I insert a heli coil from the back side fine? Or do I need to pull the...

Ok, definitely needed to use pliers when vertical. Sitting on the tailshaft and using pliers I am getting .042".

In that picture is it actually sitting on the tail shaft or should the case be supporting it?

Sorry, .015 is what it is. Yes, tailshaft with snap ring is in place as well as all washers.
