i replaced the original shaft with the round counter weight/damper that was on my charger with a 3 1/2" tube, forged yolk, 1350 solid joints from Action Machine.
the vibration present at 85mph+ since i have owned this car from 1970, disappeared.
very happy with the shaft i purchased !

i was also going to suggest making sure to have good grounds and several as needed.
also, if building from scratch or modifying a kit, make sure to use a good grade of terminal ends as well as using a good crimping tool that is proper for the terminal ends being used. this means those 967 piece...
my belt has holes in it the entire length. tightens up every time. holds up my pants great so the girls and old lady's don't squeal.................

a good tuned T-quad will wake that thing right up !
it took me years to figure those things out, but today, that is the carb of my choice !
too bad there isn't a low profile 2x4 intake made that will accept 2 T-quads. as i want to keep my flat hood, a tunnel ram is unfortunately out.

i despise slamming hoods, doors, and deck lids.
it took a little time, but my charger's panels shut with just a slight "click,click".
very little pressure needed, and it suits me just fine.

after reading this tome, and after all the trials and errors you went through KD, one other suggestion if i may.
please get rid of those "bolt on" temporary battery cable terminal ends.
after almost 60+ years of screwing around with vehicles, those things have caused more problems than they are...
i'm interested as well, especially for a sending unit that will act with higher readings when cold, then lower readings when up to temperature, as well as a lower reading at hot idle which then increases as rpm's raise.

do NOT use standard taps in the bolt holes as they will have a tendency to cut the threads oversize !
use thread CHASERS instead. these will make sure your threads are clean and correct in thread size and pitch.
